Marcel Brands

We’ve been needing a RB for about 3-4 years. I’m no Benitez fan but it’s a bit ridiculous putting it on him.
It says he turned down a RB, which means he had the final say. So who knows which other managers had final say on transfers as well? My point is just that we have no idea about all this stuff.

Regardless, it all just shows what a sh*tshow this club is and the embarrassing way in which it’s managed.

He did it to Koeman and Walsh after their failure.

Admit there's been pressure to make the changes but you can't say he's not listening.

Didn't Brands want Nuno as an offer was tabled to him?

Not sure mate, I just know he didn’t want Benitez.

I agree with everyone, I wanted Brands gone, but his departure, won’t change anything, we’ll, not that we’ll be able to se anyway.

Whatever his abilities (I have absolutely no idea on that, much like everyone else on here) it’s pretty clear that he’s never been able to conduct his role in the way a DoF needs to in order for the system to have any chance whatsoever of success.

He could be the best thing since sliced bread, he could be useless. We’ll never know.

He certainly spent some bread here.

No way that was gross misconduct, he's probably just given up trying to deal with this insanity. If its true he has walked away from two years of that deal, I think it says a lot about who is to blame for the state of the club; none of the managers did that and the current incumbent certainly won't.
Depends how it's looked at he effectively started pointing the finger for the clubs problems at the hierarchy when he probably shouldn't have said anything. It was obviously his way of defending himself and like has been said maybe he's thought when it was offered that he's better off out of the mad house.

That's absolutely not true. We hired Allardyce because Koeman was in danger of taking us down in 17/18. We then hired Ancelotti because Silva was in danger of taking us down in 19/20.

For years now this team has looked like one a few results away from a relegation scrap at the turn of the year.
It is true.

We finished 10th and were hoping to kick onto Europe.

Nobody expected a relegation fight.

Pretending you did this entire time just obliterates your arguments for supporting Benitez.

Signed Gomes, Gbamin, Delph, Iwobi, Kean

Never replaced Gana
Never replaced Zouma
Went into last season without replacing Kean and Walcott
Not replaced Coleman in over 3 years.
Currently got 1x RB and 1x LB in the squad

A disaster of a DOF - thank heavens he's gone and hopefully Kenwright and DBB follows him.

Signed Richarlison, Digne, Mina, Doucoure, Godfrey, Allan.

Good post but you’ve missed someone out?

…and Benitez of course.
