Such a typically farcical situation at Moshiri's Everton. Hire a DOF, give him 3 years to prove that he is not very good at the job, his initial 3 year contract is about to expire good news for the club, don't renew it and get someone better. No that's too easy for Moshiri, why not give him a rise and a new 3 year contract instead...........then sack him after 6 months and have to compensate him.

Well done Mr. Moshiri, obviously I'm not bright enough understand business or accountancy because, I just can't understand how you got to be a billionaire.

This. The new contract was completely unnecessary, unwarranted and has just cost us another fortune 6 months down the line.
It might have been warranted if it was done because Moshiri had seen the error of his ways and was going to allow the DoF to be an actual DoF. But since he clearly had no intention of doing that, it was a ridiculous decision.

Some of us shook our heads in disbelief when Moshiri extended this guy's contract earlier this year. It was obvious to some of us that his position should have been untenable. If he had control, his services should have been dispensed with. If he hadn't, he should have resigned. Either way, whatever the rights and wrongs of this, he was another problem that the club didn't need.

The good news is that Brands - while scapegoated now - is no longer a shield for anybody to hide behind. In turns, Moshiri has used him like this - and most recently Benitez has. Now, he's gone we can start to get closer to holding people accountable. Benitez will get very little mileage now in pointing to Brands's failed stewardship of the club as a reason for his own underperformance. Sure, he'll get to January - if he can survive until then - but after that it'll be either Benitez at fault or the board itself - not simply the Director of Football. So, in some ways, this move incentivises both the manager and the board to get their finger out, work together, invest, and produce.

Baxendale is another who now needs to go. Kenwright's departure would be a truly great day, but I suspect only an oligarch-empowered squad of hired goons could rid us of his nefarious presence. Nevertheless, the time for action at board level is long overdue. Today is a start at peeling the onion. We all know Moshiri is at the centre of that fetid bulb. However, the layers around him need exposing.

We get rid of brands just as his influence is making a difference at youth level both u23s and u18s fielding significant lower ages than ever before

Out of curiosity, what’s your beef with DBB?

I (like most) know little to nothing about what she does or even should be doing, but it seems that she’s either deeply involved or has been deeply involved in the only two things about the club that have gone even remotely well over the last decade, EITC and the new stadium?

Seems that she’s well respected outside of the club.

I’m not saying I think she’s been an amazing CEO - i really have no clue - but I’m interested to hear why the vitriol
