He wasn't on a free transfer initially and had to pay his way out of his Dalian contract. I don't know for certain what he was on there. Reports vary between £150k and £225kk. I'm of the opinion that he would be on the lesser amount

He bought out his Dalian contract and got a signing on fee from us to compensate.

I don't know for certain how much. I saw two reports that I didn't think were 100% reliable say 90k a week in September.

I followed this up with someone I trust and got told the signing on fee would equate to that amount.

Either way, he's on far more than he should be and was handed a 2-year deal with a (club) option for a third, which as a crocked 32-year-old who's played in China /Russia for 2 years is mad. Brands signed off on that deal so it's not a defence of him, I'm glad he's gone.

Actually more worried now Brands has gone no he wasn't effective in his job in ways but it seems he was curbing some of the owners mad ideas. The fact he had little influence anymore tells you he shouldn't have signed that new contract. Also the fact we are now handing control to a manager who is on very thin ice doesn't say much about our ability now to forward plan.
