I read them at the time - it’s a crock of dung. He was in China whilst Gray was at Leverkusen if you weren’t aware. Just piece together those quotes in your head and it’s the kinda tosh you’ll hear down the pub at the urinals.

Benitez left China on 23rd January
Gray signed for Leverkusen on 31st January.

I’m not Benitez biggest fan, but let’s be real. Why would he lie about messaging him?

he could quite easily put his chequebook away, turn off the USM sponser taps, not cover the losses anymore and leave us financially in the mud.
But that's how you turn paper losses into actual, realized losses.

It's Moshiris club and Moshiris money. Why would he want to kiss his money goodbye forever?

Billionaires don't generally become billionaires by setting fire to hundreds of millions in a fit of pique.

Why was he ever put on the board by the way, I've never understood this. Normal football clubs don't invite the DOF onto the board of directors.

Can’t wait till he goes to the papers with what actually happens at Everton. I think he has to go through 5 ppl to get the signing and then doesn’t get them. He doesn’t pick the manager, doesn’t run the academy.

He can say what he wants but he's been effectively asleep at the wheel for 5 years the Easter Island head.

Moshiri ultimately calls the shots - he takes a good portion of the blame because of that as well and rightfully so.

However lets not pretend that as majority shareholder he doesn't have ultimate control and say over this club - fans naively thinking they can push him around or sway his decision making because they spend a few quid in the club store and go the games are still living in the 70's.

Sky/BT pay for most of the clubs operations and most seats will still have bums on them no matter how bad things got.

Sunderland have recently broken record attendances in League One despite their troubles being well documented and back to back relegations - football is an addiction/routine for the majority regardless of the whole "thats me done with this club" nonsense we all say lol

You’d have resigned from a £2m a year job with nothing else lined up and prospects of getting similar pay elsewhere almost none existent? Bollocks.

I'd have confidence in my own ability. Absolutely I would. It would enhance my own profile too as it's a public role.

Money is all relative - I've walked out of jobs before now and turned away contracts.

He didn't 'negotiate' - they cut his contract by mutual consent because they had to as the bubble popped in China.

So yes. If anything, the Chinese club would have paid him for leaving.

As for evidence of £43k, just Google Rondon wage Everton - here you go - https://www.google.com/search?q=rondon+wage+everton+£43k

That's the only evidence there is; absolutely nothing says £90k.

You've inserted 43k into the search term there.

Truly talented people understand that sometimes an organization isn't a good fit. Indeed, that sticking with them will do much more harm than good in the medium and long term.

You have to back your own ability. I'm sure Brands will have no problem doing just that.
