Marcel Brands

Agreed. Not going to change the results but it was the right decision. Even Denise Barret-Baxendale is now seeking "alternative employment".
Kenwright is probably harder to rid of.

But giving more power to Benitez also doesn't sit well with me.
It's really is like choosing between two evils - we keep Brands, the same stuff happens all over again....We keep Benitez, is not convincing either.

It's really a difficult period for us fans. We really deserve better than this.
Benitez will be gone soon because he's a poor manager and soon enough he wont be able to hide behind injuries. Its only a matter of time.

It wouldn't surprise me if it goes tits up tonight he gets the bullet in the next few days.

He will only be gone if he gets nothing from the next 4-5 games…

It's bizarre innit. Fail at Everton and end up at Barca, Real, in charge of Belgium....
Former star player, La Decima winner for the club in question after over a decade of waiting (and spending), lifted the FA Cup when he had absolutely zero business doing so. Connections and results get managers cracks at plum jobs.

Worked out OK for all of the sides that hired them. Koeman lifted a Copa and played the Messi fall guy role to perfection, Ancelotti has Real atop the (diminished) league table, and Martinez took Belgium to their best-ever World Cup placement. All of these were expected structurally, but it's not like we can say they underperformed while in charge. They all delivered on expectations without exceeding them (though I will take that back about Ancelotti if he somehow ninjas out a fourth European Cup).

On top of that, Moyes has West Ham in the Champions League places. One way of looking at the data is that the problem is with the club. I think we all know that there's more nuance than that, because we watch closely, but it's not hard to see how an outsider might see things in such a simplified way.

Maybe the new manager would not work with Brands ? Brands goes first .. RB stays on for the next difficult fixtures … new manager in + Jan transfer window ? Maybe ?

wrong guy has gone imo
Definitely true, however we need to get the front office right before we start seeing results on the field. I wanted Brands to stay but we need a change. I don’t even know if Benitez is the right person for our club moving forward.

Brands had a tough job and moved the majority of deadwood. He bought some poor players and some good. He built poor squad depth and now feeling the effects after a run of injuries. He doesn’t like recruiting in the January window. I guess his position become untenable and he had to leave.
