Marcel Brands

Brands has been a failure , no doubt about that but I suspect that he hasn't been allowed to do his job properly and has just picked up the coin for the last few months.

The decision to extend his contract was costly and strategically nonsensical but typical of the way that Moshiri runs the club.

He was a convenient scapegoat for Benny the master of deflection and blame.

I suspect that he has until Christmas and if there is no improvement in results he will be removed.

Yet another costly and failure by the club.

This is probably true, but if Brands and Baxendale go at least we start to get clarity. Benitez will be solely responsible for signings and tactics. If things go wrong we can properly start again, with a new CEO and, depending on who comes in, a new DOF and Head Coach, or a new manager.

Reading a lot of people saying Brands wasn't allowed to do his job, he's been made the scapegoat etc and feeling sorry for him...

Well he was happy enough to sign a new 3 year deal wasn't he.

Only time will tell if Moshiri and Bill were sticking their noses into his job which prevented him from being successful.
Was he allowing managers to cherry pick certain players (James Allan Rondon Townsend) or didn't he have a say?

Anyway Farhad load that gun with 3 more bullets for Benitez Bill DBB, once you've done that the rest of 'The boys" will be out in no time.
Find it bizarre that at this point you still think Moshiri is the saviour.

He’s pumped money in, yes, but his decision making (including this latest one) is arguably the biggest single problem at the club.

It’s demonstrably clears from Kirkbride’s article (it was clear before that if you were paying attention, but never explicit until now) that Moshiri WAS sticking his nose in, and that the owner was indulging managers with signings that went against the footballing strategy (such as it was, given that it was never given a chance to get off the ground)

He’s gotten the stadium going, for which I’ll be forever grateful, but in every other single way, the club was (god help us) better off when Kenwright was in charge.

I don't think Benitez will get to the next transfer window.
He probably has until Christmas/ New Year and when results don't improve and we lose to Newcastle that will be enough even for Moshiri.

This run of fixtures post Boxing Day is so vital. Predicting it now, interim Dunc in early 2022 navigating a series of relegation six pointers.

If this happens....what a stunning indictment of the mismanagement endemic at this club.

60 years of age....SIXTY YEARS OF AGE.

I wish someone would tell me the exact age I'm supposed to start wearing slacks and get a pipe, it isn't fair we continue to wear clothes we like and feel comfortable in just so the kids can laugh at us.

If we don't get any points (or even just a draw or 2) by Christmas having played Burnley and Newcastle as well, we will be more than likely getting relegated. Huge risk.
