No but any competent builder would say “I don’t want to be associated with this shoddy work” and walk away not agree to carry on watching you ruin any good work they were trying to do.
I take that but out of interest within the game of football how many managers , coaches , DofF and CEO's resign in those circumstances ? because we see and hear similar stories on a regular basis but for the life of me I'm struggling to think of any really , those huge salaries are tough to walk away from in the real world. I'm not saying that should be applauded or makes you a good person but I am saying it feels like what happens.

The mental gymnastics in here since the sacking are incredible.

He didn’t have a single supporter last week and now he’s a martyr.

Yes the Kopite pig should be sacked, the utterly under qualified DBB needs punting and Boys Pen needs scragging out by his hair but that doesn’t mean that Brands does not deserve the sack. He absolutely does, whether that’s due to incompetence or allowing himself to be undermined… Either way is bad enough to warrant the bullet.
That's nonsense. Loads of supporters bought into him and wanted him to be given more control. It was evident that he wasn't being allowed to do his job.

I was one of them. My main issue with him was that no credible DoF would spend 30m on Iwobi. Based on information coming out in the past day or so, it looks like he didn't sign Iwobi and it was done over his head. This just underlines that he wasn't given an environment in which he could do his job.

more than happy for him to get the bullet with the rest of them but for him to be the sacrificial lamb when the more information you hear, which most of us suspected anyway , he'd probably be further down the list than most.

He didn't have to resign. He came to the end of his contract in the summer and could have amicably left.

3.5 years of this feller and the cratering of the club on his watch. How on earth can he be defended in any remote way?

….no, that’s not what its saying. Brands advised against because funds were not available. We were in a mess re FFP yet Moshiri brought him in anyway which is a big concern.

Seems most of things Brands was getting blamed for were misdirected. Perhaps he can be more accurately blamed for what he didn’t do.

We're in a mess FFP wise is because Brands bought some terrible players on £100k a week.

Signing Ben Godfrey didn't throw us into a FFP mire, signing Mina, Gomes, Delph, Bernard, James etc on £100k a week and then the previous regime of Siggy, Keane, and Pickford for £100kl+mill for a start did

So for three years he just sat back and took being over ruled and then signed a new contract?

I have yet to see one credible piece of evidence that it is true, however, there is so much chatter about it now, most repeating what others have said, that it becomes the truth overnight
I assume from this that you think Gray, Townsend, Rondon, James and Allen were all identified and signed by Brands?

And now we are in financial trouble.

I'm not sure how that is a good thing mate

There was always going to be a point that the purse was to be tightened. Been on the cards for 2 seasons (the Esk been threatening it for a while).

So the signing of one CB is being used as the catalyst for our financial issues to defend Brands being undermined, I don't buy

He signed a new contract. Why would anyone who wasn’t allowed to do their job for three years sign on for another three?
I’ve said he’s the fall guy and the least to blame but this has been bugging me and it’s turned me against Brands.

If he knew after 3 years that he wasn’t going to have free rein then he should not have re-upped. He was just taking money at that point.

He knew who FM and BK were by then. They weren’t going to change. Scorpion and the frog and all that.

Lack of character.

He walked, didn't he? It's the first good thing he's done since becoming DoF.

I still think he wasn't making the decisions - and for that he can't take all the blame - but he was happy to sit there, earning the money. If you stand by while other people are doing wrong, then you're complicit.

I have no idea how this helps at all.

TBH if true that he didn’t want some of the players and current manager, he probably should have walked earlier, but which one of us would walk away from a multi-million pound salary?

I'm somewhere above too, im convinced the main issue is above Brands in the Everton set up, whether lessons have been learned we are about to find out.

If I take note of Brands supposed remit and what has been signed he has been side lined for two managers now.

Which was speak out.
Or just quit
