Richarlison, DCL development, Ben Godfrey. Yerry Mina, Lucas Digne. Doucoure.
No way has Mina been a success for £30m and £100k odd a week he’s good centre half on his day but he’s not been a good signing overall IMO. I like doucoure but I wouldn’t say he’s been a success either just ok really nothing more than that. Even if you count them it’s not a lot is it for the money he’s had and the amount of signings. A stopped clock and all that.

But there are lots of other factors. Every manager that has come in will have had transfer demands and promises by the board about certain transfers before they agreed to the job. So brands will have his hands tied. Especially when each managers style has varied so much, so after he has has made their 1 or 2 signings we are then skint.

Some say his remit is to sign young players to progress through, everyone ignores branthwaite and nkounkou. The whole point is it takes time, they could be excellent signings, but we won't know for years.

I don't think he has been great, but not all his fault.

Only been waiting 3 years for one. You’ve really got to wonder what our scouting network and brands are doing. It’s been a priority position in all this time and we are still yet to nail a target (if we even had one). It really is a dereliction of duty.
Bet the signings so far are Rafael’s call too.

No I’m not having that if he doesn’t like it he should walk. He can’t accept a seat on the board and sign a new contract and then claim his hands have been tied all along because he knows what the situation is and he’s clearly happy with it.

I have to agree. Bit of a disgrace.

….not sure he has much sway in selecting targets. We know @davek will be selective in determining all good players were not brought in by Brands whilst all the bad ones were.

Seems at Everton, the Manager & owner are acquiring players. Brands is on record as saying nobody arrives without the green light from Benitez. Appears we don’t have a fully operational DoF process at our club, but one where the transfer power lies with the Manager.

Perhaps Brands is paid lots of money to get lots of stick. I’m not in the least defending him, but if he was allowed to do his job we’d be able to judge him better. All assumption of course.

How do you explain the RB and RW situation if it’s all down to Benitez and Moshiri? He’s had 7 transfer windows and several managers to sort, yet it’s still our weakest area.
