That is very true.

But we should have young strikers in the under 23 set up whom are deemed worthy of being given a start in these crisis situation.

That we haven’t is an indictment on our youth policy.

I don’t know if this failure comes under Brands’s job remit but if it does then he has been woeful in that area.

Bit of both. I suspect it wouldn’t be so bad if our 3rd choice striker was more Josh King than Rondon this year. Any striker on a free that can run would have done the job.

One thing I still can’t get my head around was his trip back to Holland before the season started.

Could not have been more than to see his friends and family. Multiple reports basically confirming he was there to secure some signings (grand total of 0, in the end) and that he needed to quarantine when he got back to the UK. The signings never came and you can’t tell me he was there just to finalise Markelo’s move back home.

This guy was allowed to jaunt around and still leave massive gaps with our squad? Joker

We got destroyed today by a striker who couldn't get a start for us last season. That isn't down to recruitment it is down to the way we keep signing dinosaur managers.

How do you come to that conclusion when it's basically the same core of players letting us down again and again? Yeah... it must be the new guys fault

Brands is in no way blameless for our current predicament with our paper thin squad full of bang average, gutless frauds, and for me he should resign - tbh, if he had any pride in his work or himself, he would have resigned when he wasn't allowed to select the last manager. He's here for the money now, nothing more.

However, Moshiris scattergun, bonkers strategy of gegging into every last football decision and hiring a DoF but never actually allowing him to do the job properly is now fully reaping what it sowed.

Totally agree. I don't blame him for getting his checks but it has been a professional embarrassment for him.

I know mate, can't blame him for taking the green, but it's just not good enough. He's just like many others at the club im afraid, including the directors, players and staff - they are here for shill and nothing else.

We have far too many people around the club who are simply not good enough at what they do, many who are ex players coaching or other "chums" as directors.

The whole club reeks of sentimentality, incompetence and acceptance of mediocrity.
