Marcelo Bielsa

Bielsa to Everton has the potential to be absolutely incredible or a disaster of epic proportions. I don't think there is an in-between and personally I'm good with that. I'm so fn tired of watching confused, slow, and fake aggressive football. I've never been more disconnected from the club than I am in this moment and there's nothing Kenwright, DBB, or Moshiri will ever do to repair that divide. It will take something out of left field and something that is driven by what happens in the squad and on the pitch.

Sean dyche might keep us up but he's not fixing that. Sam allardyce might keep us up but he's not fixing that.
This is the best description, especially "fake aggressive."

One of the most exciting things about Bielsa would be what he does with some of these players. Phillips was nowhere near the england team before Bielsa. We have players in this squad that are SIGNIFICANTLY better than what they have shown under Lampard. His lack of tactical ability was a massive issue and his assistants weren't much better.

That's what bothers me about these "we have the worst squad in the prem" arguments. Judging a players ability when he's in a bad tactical setup for his skillset is a failure of the person doing the judging not the judged.

I’d disagree. The reason being barring losing to Everton in that run. We always got the results against the teams around us. Yes we took a few hammerings against spurs man united and Liverpool with a patched to together team. But had we been pragmatic like the pundits and other fans think we should have we’d have lost 2/3-0 anyway. They had better players.

We’d have got the results playing against the likes of norwich, wolves, leicester, Watford to keep us up.

People were short sighted thinking he should have been sacked.

If the 49ers take over is done before the summer, in an ideal world we’d be going back cap in hand asking him to come back. He was willing to return to Bilbao earlier this year.

The problem was the club began looking to replace Bielsa at the start of last season he wasn’t fully supported in the summer and the injuries hit hard. By January they’d already decided on marsch so took it for granted Bielsa would do enough to see us safe and didn’t help him in January.

Injuries got worse and we had a bad month.

Selfishly I hope he turns you down. No one understood Bielsa and was mocked up & down the country, but we understood him and he was ours. I selfishly don’t want anyone else to have that
One thing for sure, Biesla left with a very strong foundation for anyone who take over. The pressing and energy level of Leeds this season is very similar a year after Bielsa left your club. His legacy is long lasting and the culture within the club is clear for all to see. Imagine Marsch taking over from Lampard and inherit a squad of lazy social media knobheads.

Bielsa is the best manager out there for us and the one I would be most confident to bring us back up even if we were relegated.

He would finally clear out the dross in our squad and improve the players that he rates and decides to keep.

Leeds have had a mini revamp since Marsch but the foundation of Phillips, Dallas, Ayling, Cooper, Bamford were flailing in the Championship before he took over and remain a relatively key part of Leeds' team now (Phillips obviously moved on).

My only concern is that he has walked away from badly run clubs before (left Lazio after 2 days) and would not be surprised if he left due to our ownership.

Ultimately though if he has half the impact he has at us than Leeds then he will probably have done an alright job. The fact most Leeds fans want him back says a lot too.

100% with you here.
There's a mid table squad there, no problem.
They've gone from Ancelotti to Benitez to Lampard and it shows in terms of how they play together.
A good manager should be able to get a tune out of them.
My only fear for Bielsa is the inevitable injury list.

I get what you're saying here and your insights are appreciated. Honestly though, people have said this about pretty much every manager we've had in the last 10 years. Even Benitez. At the end of the day it would all be down to results. Bielsa'sthe man who finally got you back into the big time, so you love him, why wouldn't you. Same as Wigan fans love Martinez and Newcastle fans love Benitez etc. We don't really feel the same way. I even remember telling my Sunderland supporting brother in law that he'd end up loving Moyes. Spoiler, he doesn't.
Bielsa is different because his ways are unlike anyone else's, why he's still adored at Leeds, why some fans even wanted to keep him if it meant relegation. Football became fun again, the whole ethos, the way of playing, was something special. But it worked at Leeds because everyone was 100% invested in him from top to bottom, whether that'd be the case at Goodison, I have no idea.

We had become way too easy to beat in that run in and it was hard to see it turning around, the players looked spent and didnt believe in the system any more. I just did not see us getting a result against anyone at that point. But I guess we'll never know.

I could see our fans buying into it if we’d just spent 15 years outside the Premier League.

We just don't have a squad that is bothered. With a few exceptions they are absolute rubbish more interested in photo opportunities than getting stuck in on the pitch.
