Marcelo Bielsa

What a mental suggestion, but also what a great suggestion.

I doubt Dyche would be happy coming in for just 6 months with his successor working underneath him. But that would have showed a long term vision.

I think come the summer whether we stay up or not the board may have Bielsa in mind for the long term.
If you want someone to completely reinvigorate the footballing side of your club - not rip up, like Benitez did, but completely change it - then Bielsa is your man.

I agree, and the fact he wanted to take the time this season to work with the youngsters and help implement that style from the academy upwards would show a long term vision and a clear style.

Still a very left field offer that i can understand would be very difficult to accomdate while trying to entice a first team manager and also difficult financially while we are already scraping the barrel.

Can you imagine Baines getting walloped every week as manager, the club are rooted to the bottom while Bielsa is managing the kids?

It just sounds to me like he doesn’t think he can keep us up and wanted nothing to do with this season.

Respect to the man to be honest.
If we weren’t in this dire situation and could afford a caretaker manager for the rest of the season that would be a great move getting him into the club to take over after the last game of this season.

I can’t see Dyche being sacked even if we go down cos u will have people saying it’s not his fault, he knows the championship etc. 2.5 year deal means he is here to stay. Dark days

It’s exactly like that. Our players can’t play the way he wants and he can’t do it any other way, fair play to him.

We were Ruthless with Allardyce and could do the same again as the argument for Bielsa in the championship on top of a long term vision and clear style of play is arguably stronger than keeping Dyche.

But lets hope it doesn't come to that.

I mean the next few months are kinda important aren’t they.

Good luck ringing round managers asking them to save our season and the entire future of the club while their already appointed successor is already literally in the building.

To be clear, because the Tweets aren't, this proposal was rejected.

From the article:

Instead, Bielsa wanted to bring eight backroom members of staff with him and work with the under-21s and academy between now and the end of the season, He would then step up and become manager. Yet that plan was not feasible with Everton needing inspiration from the touchline now as they battle to avoid relegation.
