Good morning guys.

The vaults remembers your faults. Like the time you argued against going after Mikel Arteta as Everton Manager. Look at that league table.

I may match up some of the Arteta dissenters with their opinion now so the good people of board can tell who simply don’t know their soccer yet are too arrogant, thick to deal in definitives again.

You are sick and I am your medicine.

The Marco Bielsa thread, ladies and gentlemen.

I’m going to be a good little Evertonian and , providing it’s not Stevie G Laaaa , happily accept whomever is imposed upon us and whatever my doubts just hope for the best .

The boards previous successes give me confidence at least .

We could get a manager who will be their best mate and give them a cushy ride and see how that works out... oh, hang on!

Hasnt doucoure just thrown his toys out the pram because a few were told some home truths about not being good enough.
I dont think lampard gave them a cushy ride. I think we've been a cushy ride club for a lot of players for a few years now. We pay pretty decent money to bland average players.

I'd be fascinated though to see how bielsa worked here. Complulsive viewing.

….if Bielsa comes, we go.

A gimmick appointment not an intellectual appointment.

Not sure I agree with that bit at all

I'd say there's a very good chance we go regardless of who comes in. That being the case, the argument for Bielsa instantly becomes a much stronger one IMO - age isn't too much of a factor as we'd never get more than 2 -3 years out of a manager anyway. You've got someone who got a bang average Leeds side out of the Championship there and, on the small chance he did keep us up, you've got in place a very good manager (albeit one who has a relatively short shelf life)

Arteta would not have replicated the Arsenal success with us - would have been sacked like all the others. We are an extremely poorly run football club, with an owner whonhas no clue but plenty of money to do permanent damage!!

Bringing bielsa in is without a doubt (if it happens) a short term appointment cos he'll either not save us (highly likely) or he'll walk after working with this bunch of incompetents on the board.

Arteta would have failed here just like all the rest of the managers have, bringing him here wouldn't have resulted in success.

It's been said time and time again, the problems lay deeper than a string of managers and directors of football.

Any manager they bring in they have a sub par squad, no money to spend, a board in disarray and a clueless owner anyone who thinks Biesla is going to save this mess doesn't see the bigger picture.

Llorente was always going to end up like that though

I agree about the shelf life comment - it wouldn't be long term but I think that is what we need, someone to get hold of some of the squad and instill that into them.

I’m all for if, but his record isn’t flawless, and that’s my concern.

Of his last 5 positions, he’s lasted, 2 days, 6 months, 1 season, 2 Seasons and 4 seasons.

My concern along with the fact he takes no messing, and we’re run by a gang of buffoons who I wouldn’t trust to run a bath, let along a football team.
