What stands out to me in regards to the set pieces - two massive centre half’s should have complete command and control of the box at all times. Regardless of zonal or man marking anything coming into the box gets dealt with, the other players are there for support, See van dyke as a prime example. This is basic level centre half defending and it’s not being implemented.

But you need a solid bedrock to do that and not complete overhauls which is what we're doing. We don't have that.

Watford have surprisingly done it well though to be fair.
Watford sacked their underperforming manager, sold their best player and brought in a (it now seems) a manager better suited to the Premier League. If we had waited to see how Silva's Watford had fared the whole season, rather than assumed he was the best thing since sliced bread based on about half a season's worth of games managing two different teams, then maybe we would have looked elsewhere.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

It doesn't mean the team have to be openly hammered by the fans as it won't help - the underlying reasons need to be understood

Silva has made some good signings on the face of it. Is it confidence / tactics / lack of a striker??

Wolves are pretty good at the moment by the way - high confidence, supportive fanbase

Why shouldn't they? Why should we as fans sit on our hands and be good little fans to a bunch of players who quite frankly don't deserve their wages right now

Hoping 33 points is going to be enough as on recent performances it's difficult to see us getting many more this season.

There is no evidence of the team improving. In fact we seem to be going backwards.

Silva just doesn't seem to be able to motivate the players (or the fans).

He seems a nice bloke but if he is here next season ( if not this!) I can see him taking us down.

they must be getting told not too, as it would be totally natural to play like this for keane .. that is why we signed him infact, a big burly strong defender with great ariel ability.

where has that gone.

silva must be telling them not to compete in the box for fear of giving pens away ???

Well someone in charge needs to stop allowing horrendous fees being spent on utterly bang average players.

A good manager would have us playing properly though, shouldn't rely upon your own signings.
I agree with all that mate and my main concern is that I can’t see much evidence of how Silva has actually coached this team into a better unit from the first day of the season.

For me the lack of improvement in defending free kicks and corners is exhibit A in the case against Silva.

this one which just closed doesn't count. We couldn't do anything due to so many horrible past moves..... again, that is not Silva's fault that he inherited that

I don't want to come off as making excuses for the guy, far from it.... but I am a firm believer in giving someone a fair chance before judging their performance
We've gotten noticeably WORSE the longer the season goes on. What about that and Silva's record makes you think this is a temporary blip?

I agree.

We probably need a few more points but I’ve just said on another thread that we could lose every home game quite easily.

Our home record is getting as bad as it was under Martinez. That simply isn't acceptable. He won't be here next season.

Shame, because it means we'll have to start all over again. Again.

It'e been downhill since Moyes went. Getting sick of it.
welcome aboard the bus mate …

we seem to be on the same side regards your name sake

I remember under Moyes if we conceded a rare silly goal the camera would pan to Moyes and he'd have a look in his eyes that would turn you into stone. Looked like he was an ignorant dad who had walked in on his son in bed with his "mate".

You knew and I'm sure the players knew it had better not happen again for the season. Never mind twice in one game.
