The one saving grace is the fact that we have a DoF who has already proved his mettle (I am sure Gana staying had nothing to do with Silva throwing his toys out of the pram) in the January transfer window. If he thinks Silva is the man then he will persevere, regardless of what the fanbase thinks. He will not panic and he will tell the board exactly how he sees it.

I've lost all hope. I don't see anything improving. He refuses to be flexible.
This. It's like Martinez as he refuses to try something different. Just does the same thing over and over and expecting something different. If he was at least trying different things and picking up even draws then I think he would getting as much flack and a lot more would be aimed at the players.

he's inherited players who are not only bad, but also some of the "better" ones who simply don't fit his system

that's not really his fault.... it will take 2-3 windows to be able to judge Silva's performance in my opinion

the set pieces is a deserved criticism, though

Bingo. Coleman may still be a decent player, but he's not a very good fit for Silva. None of our CBs are a good fit, can't mark in space, not good with their feet. We literally have a single DM worth a darn - and we've seen how bad we are without him. Walcott is a horrible fit. Inside forward, yes, but just doesn't take care of the ball.

Who could be good enough for Everton?? The fans have high expectations - which is reasonable as they're all high achievers themselves - many of them are indeed excellent footballers, better than most of those on the pitch, but preferring to do other things with their time, like watching other men play football..[/QUOTE

Someone with more than 2 failed half seasons no in the league isn’t much too ask.

Will standing next to the pitch booing the team help improve results? You'd think the effect could only be a negative one, as psychology is so important in football

Fans should be as supportive as possible - especially through difficult periods. Ultimately, the board will make the call re whether or not to keep on the manager, based on results, not what they hear from the fanbase, so fans should be relentlessly positive

Fans are supportive of highly motivated players who play football that is inspiring and well organized. Not the tepid s*** that this team plays.

He spent a fortune in the summer. I was expecting an improvement on last year because of that yet it seems no different, probably worse.

He's tried quite a few things different. Started out today with a flat 3 in midfield with Sigurdsson dropped way back. He's played 3 in the back. He's gone 4-4-2.

There's simply not much you can do when you literally have 3 players that are very limited in terms of their roles that can play in the midfield. He has no flexibility.

I personally would come out and play McCarthy and Gana as DMs, put Siggy or Gomes in front of them in more of a box to box role, and attempt to play his 4-3-3. May have to sub off McCarthy before time, but it would help protect against the counter for certain. Can't hurt on set pieces, either.

Despite the fact that I don't rate Silva there's a way for him to win me over. Just say it like it is with regards to our players. The disgusting lack of effort from them is beyond inexcusable at this point. We won't even be able to sell half of them on because nobody will pay the ludicrously inflated wages we've given them. They can't even bring themselves to be professional. Nobody at this club is ever willing to be honest about anything. We're slowly going the way of Aston Villa and Leeds and the scumbags who run us just want to pretend everything is ok. Screw the lot of them. Come on Silva, stand up and be counted. If he lifts the lid on the rest who play for us and publically says what everyone already knows but never admit then my estimation of him will sky rocket.
