Yesterday was abysmal and the last 2 draws have been very poor (not just results but performances) however the results above show that although Spurs and Liverpool are doing really well now, people tend to forget the last few seasons and how they got there.

As long as they are learning from these performances/results and buying into Silvas approach and methods then he needs to be given time.
I had no idea Klopp and Poch had such good away records.

Any manager who has a past track record of success I'll give them as much time as anybody to get it right, however I refuse to support a bloke who in about 18 months combined in English football with 3 clubs has relegated one and got sacked by the other, and now his third club are sat in 11th after spending £90 million in the summer with a side easily good enough to be sat well clear in 7th.

Its baffling the amount of people willing to give this bloke any goodwill.

Sort of agree with the some of the benchmarking against Martinez. In fairness keeping Wigan up as he did + Cup win is a better ROI than Marco (no) Silva.

Who is out there longer term that could be better for us?

Yesterday I think it's clear he got his tactics wrong in the sense we tried to go toe-to-toe with Spurs.

That's a good thing, to an extent, but given Gana's injury we just had no bite in midfield and it was far too easy for them.

Then again, it's not incorrect to say that a series of individual mistakes also played their part.

Bottom line is that he needs to get the balance right and learn from it.

He doesn't he'll be gone like Bobby brown shoes

Er.....just no ..put ya dummy back in lollollol

Doesnt your post sort of indicate how low our fanbase's expectations are these days mate?

A loss to Burnley and we are likely 12/13th in the table after spending another £90+ million in the summer with a manager who hasnt beaten any side around us in the table bar 10 man Leicester.

When is enough enough?

We are on a bad run of 5 games without a win, this isn't good enough but doesn't mean he should be sacked, especially considering its his first season. I've heard shouts to replace him with Pellegrini and even Benitez, would rather stick with Silva and give him a few windows to see what he can do. We can't be changing managers every time we go on a bad run.

Maybe Everton just aren't for you mate? You seem deeply wounded by the fact we likely won't get Europe this season - why not go support Liverpool for a bit until we get better.

Best to keep your powder dry mate, as we haven`t " lost " to Burnley yet.

It was a tactical horror show yesterday, no doubt at all. The full backs played too high, allowing Son huge spaces on the flanks to receive the ball and start running at our centre backs. Gomes and Davies didn't have a clue who they were supposed to be tracking, or which spaces they had to close off. There was no were near enough work from our wide players either in helping back. Total suicide football.

Talk of sacking him however is completely premature. We aren't touching the top 6 this season (look at the gulf in quality yesterday) and even if we finish 7th, we're going to have a period of poor form. The horror show at Anfield has had a huge impact on us and several players in the team, Pickford most of all. There have been very positive signs in some games this season, we were excellent at the Emirates and Anfield, pretty good at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge and we probably created more clear cut chances at Manchester City than any other side in the league will manage this season. Even yesterday if it wasn't for yet another top 6 status quo referee, we would have gone 2-0 and maybe Spurs wouldn't have recovered from that?

We're a work in progress, we have a good team but it's not a patch on the top 6 sides in the league. Our points return has been disappointing but it's really a consequence of the last 5 games, we were all feeling very positive about this side before this run. Silva needs to do what Martinez was completely incapable of doing and that is being able to turn around poor form. Martinez couldn't reverse poor spells of form of 4-5 games and they would extend in to season killers. If Silva can't do it either he will go the same way, which would be a great shame.

Completely agree with the vast majority of this, the negative effect of the anfield result, the decent number of chances we're making against good teams, the fact he should be given time to turn things around.

My only real overriding problem is that I struggle to think of any good managers who have lost by 6 goals at home.

That game could easily have been managed to keep the score down but he made 2 attacking subs and an enforced change for gomez. The problems were clearly if defence and midfield. He has given himself a big job to resuscitate the players for the next match.

I would suggest reading up on this great clubs history. If anyone thinks Bill Kenwrights Everton is the real Everton Football Club then you really have been brainwashed.

Im doing my best to heal you all but you need to help me.

We'll beat Burnley or Brighton and all the posts in here will be "told you he is great"

Lose 5 and win 1 bottom half side is how Martinez kept his job for near 2 seasons and I fully expect the same from Silva.

I wouldn`t worry too much mate, as even when we win there`s still certain players who`ll get criticised, no matter what.

It is the Everton way.
