This nails it. But I would add that it's not really just about Silva or the players - I firmly believe the core of the club is rotten and accepts this level of performance as par for the course.

@ijjysmith nailed it too - as a club, we're pointless. We just exist, doing enough to get by but never aspiring to do anything more. We're part of the fixture list, nothing more.

It’s horrible to admit it. But people need to drastically lower their expectations on us and where we actually are in the football world these days.

We have average to poor players, with an average manager and we are in an average league position with little hope of progression.

That’s where we are.

It's definitely premature to talk of sacking him. If it doesn't pick up by the end of the season then maybe think about it but unless we somehow get in danger of the drop let him have time to try to fix it.

Shouts to get rid are premature, but it can't keep going as it is. We've got a run of about 6 "winnable" games, if we fail to win at least 3 of them it's looking very dicey for him.

The problem is mate, that's all we seem to keep saying of late, a run of "winnable games" only for us to not win those games.

Also, talk of getting rid of Silva now is daft, for me he gets this window and the Summer window, then he gets scrutinised to death.

For me he probably has a handful of games left and we need to see victories.

Which is an utterly ludicrous thing to say though mate because we're five months into what is a huge task.

He's had one transfer window. We're currently 10th. We are four points off 7th. We are in no danger at all of getting relegated.

So why are you giving him four games, now, in January? Why? Why don't we just see if he can turn things around. Because this time five weeks ago all was rosy.

We get rid now, more fool on us.

At the same time 10 years ago Spurs, Napoli and to some degree Atletico were all similar and now they're part of the elite clubs so it can be done. Right now we aren't there but nothing wrong with wanting more and expecting that we will at least see some desire from the club for more.

I just can’t see us doing it you know.

Can still not believe my own previous judgement about him. He really needs to get his head straight. He fumbled around again today. Laughing at his own mistakes ,and that stupid shouting at own players when he's the one who should have a smacking. He definitely needs to sit out some games. It's somewhat embarrassing now. Some humility from him wouldn't have hurt to say the least.
