That would slightly annoy me as for that money i find it hard to believe we could not have used that £30m as compensation to get a top manager.

That's what I was thinking (I know in hindsight and all that) we could have just used the compo money to have brought in a top manager in the first place, instead of gambles like Martinez, and Koeman, and maybe Silva.

Hull City had about 14 first team players when he took over and he found a way to bring Prince Oumar back from the dead and become a goal scoring machine for an absolutely dire side. Hardly "not good enough". Pep wouldn't have bagged 5 points there.

He had Watford playing very well until two things happened - 1) Everton came for him and 2) Richy was dead from playing nonstop for 1 and a half years

Sure, he was a risk. But to call him not good enough at two PL stops is a little overboard

say all you want. he failed twice in the premier league.

he wasn't a good enough coach to keep hull up. simple as that.

sacked by Watford... whatever the circumstances, he was sacked, not good enough, bad attitude etc etc

but welcome to Everton marco lad, come and splash hundreds of millions making us 14th

hes only ever won one league, the welsh …. errr, I mean Greek league..

he did get 6th tho in Portugal.. not bad when the league is a 2 horse race...
That was indeed my bad. Rattled that one off a bit quickly. He finished 3rd with Sporting. Think he got to 5th with Estoril, though.

Hull would've kept him in a heartbeat.

Obviously a ridiculously hectic festive period was never going to be kind on the players' legs but there has been a noticeable drop in the quality and pace of our game recently.

We just need to progress in the FA Cup and then build from there - generate a bit of confidence back into the players and crowd.

A striker would be nice, a winger would be nice, a right back would be nice and another option in central midfield would be ideal but we have an XI that is capable of better than it has put out in the last month or so and Silva needs to find that level again.

Those of us saying give him time seem to be a minority.
However was only 18 months or so ago that a certain tabloid ran the heading - Klopp,Kop,Flop.

Put it this way, he might of been good enough for Hull but our ambitions should be higher, same to a lesser extent Watford's. We want top six at least, you dont look at a manager who nearly kept a team up and one who won 8 games at Watford and think he is our man, unless your crazy.
Also at Watford, did us coming in really ruin things? if so whats his excuse now, are Benfica in for him or something?

This whole festive season and us slowing down thing is all fine and everything, but doesn't make sense when the West Ham and Huddersfield games were exactly like this waaaaaay before these fixtures. And probably a couple of others I can't think of.

We would struggle for top 4 in Portugual. Struggle top 6 in Spain. In fact all the major leagues I couldn't see us in top 5 and we defo would not walk even some of the minor leagues like Croatia, Ukraine etc. Fact is we are not as good as we make out to be and the PL has only got 5 or 6 decent teams and we are not one of them as of yet and haven't been for ages. It's OK criticising other leagues but we need to look at our own league also and not over hype it.
