Mad how Southampton managed to get Hassenhuttel while in the relegation zone. But then their last appointment was Hughes. Guess they learned their lesson.

Anyway, when we first got Silva I said on here he was basically just a slightly better Martinez and I stand by that. Similarly tactically dreadful, better coach though.

Surely pointless even contempleting who can take over. Serioulsy wjho cares its total pot luck.

Fact is we had a perfectly capable manager with proven track record in this league. He did a good job getting us up to 8th when we were in disarray.
We almost certainly would have progressed in the league to 6/7th this year. He stated a club like everton MUST also try and win the FA Cup and with 100m odd to spend he would have got us playing better football than survival dog-fight crap we needed last year. We would also set up against teams clearly better than us on paper in a way to get results. Not laughably try ad beat Lpool, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Totts at their own game.

I was reading until you alluded to our previous manager as being “ perfectly capable “

People forgetting how utterly abysmal Allardyce was in every aspect of management. Every time he opened his mouth he belittled the club in some way.

People should never forget what an utter tragedy that was for our club. Still makes me feel downright ashamed that Everton was the club that would go on and give that gorilla-brained mouth breather a chance at managerial work after his England embarrassment and subsequent "retirement" at Palace.

Does every aspect of management include getting results, or is it just his personality you didn't take to.

If Mourinhio came to Everton he would have almost zero feeling for the club but it wouldnt stop him wining trophies.

When did evertonians the kings of pitch invasions, taking drugs and bakcing each other up suddenely become a beacon of morality?

I can understand the rewriting of history over Moyes every time we lose a game. It's all balderdash like, but I understand it.

Are we really rewriting history over Allardyce now too? Wow.

We'd be even worse if that slug were still here. All those overpaid deadwood players we need to shift too? We'd have a handful more now as well.

Getting results? He beat just enough of the premier league other 13 at home to ensure we limped home in 8th. We were absolutely abysmal away from home under him. Even some of the results we did get were rather fortuitous such as the Newcastle away where we had one shot and scoredand they hit the post numerous times.

I’d roll out the red carpet for Mourinho as I am all about the results but Allardyce would never take us where we wanted to go.

I know we're all entiltled to our opinion, but can we stop using terms like "slug" when talking about Sam Alladyce?

When I read twaddle like this, I have to wonder what the angle is or who is writing it ...

Everton finishing 8th last season was an indicator of how poor the rest of the league is. We were dreadful and beat a handful of teams at home, eventually.

Are we now pining for a manager who went on holiday the Monday morning after a defeat and laughed when the media suggested that the supporters were unahppy with a defeat to Burnley?
