Yes mate...cause I think we’re all in for the FA Cup whilst we are still experimenting in league games.

When we played Huddersfield Baines, Holgate, Niasse, Tosun, Schneiderlin, Davies and DCL (right wing) all started as he had to give them a chance.

He’s still giving players he probably doesn’t think on the answer a chance. He’s still looking at what he’s got in arch situations and experimenting with futnations.

It’s difficilt to change from that mentality week to week but I think we’ll be all in for the cup. I also expect league results to pick up as I personally believe he’s put together a very decent group of individuals already and I think the quality will kick in soon especially if a bit of stardust is added to the squads up front and we have something to play for (trophy wise).

I think you’re clutching at straws tbh.

His pressers are becoming increasingly defensive and he’s giving the impression that the pressure is getting to him.

Managers in this situation don’t experiment mate.

They do if they've been told they can. If the remit from Brands is to have a play around and see who he wants to keep/who can fit into the system etc, with no threat of the sack unless it all goes massively downhill, then that's what he'll do.

Obviously I have no idea whether that's the case, but it's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.

I hate these type of stats.
How does Ward Prowse's goal translate, or the countless other goals that have nothing to do with the Pickford's value and quality to the team?

These stats tell you more about whats happening in the midfield, the defence and Silva's tactics than Pickford.

I keep going on about the Chelsea match but in that when the defence was organised properly Pickford played an outstanding game.
One of the qualities of a top goalkeeper is how he positions himself to be the last man in defence.
But in order to do that effectively you have to have some semblance of structure and consistency.
Not the shambles we have.
Its almost like the whole defensive structure doesn't start to sort itself out until after Gana has done his thing.

If you look at De Gea brilliant performance, it has a lot do do with working off the angles already established.
Allison has Van Dijk.
Pickford head must be spinning at times with what he's faced with.

Yes he's had some howlers, but reckon there's quite a few prem gks who'd be doing worse under the same conditions.

It's a fair point mate. Stats can be misleading and tell you little about the types of shot someone is facing. However when you see stats with De Gea and Alisson at the top end and Stekelenberg & Migonolet at the other I think there is some validity to them.

In a way I hope this is the case. What I would also say in this though, is I would like to see the style he wants to play more embedded into the system. If we have more defeats like Spurs at home, it's preferable to limp displays like some of the others have been.
