He's shown the ability to set up against top teams in this league with three different teams and cause them problems / get results.

He needs the tools to do the job...most importantly he needs to be able to weed out the weak characters.

We need a manger who can get the best out of the current players and the ones Brands is going to bring in.

Can't see Brands forking out another 45m for one of Silva's players.
Those days are gone.

Is Silva really the man to bring Brand's players on.

Toys flying out of prams everywhere.

Huddersfield away next. If we don't get a result he is in trouble. If the downward spiral continues he will be gone at the season's end. If results improve he will get next season as well.

Everyone needs to calm down. There will be no change before the end of the season at the earliest. The only person who matters when it comes to being convinced is the owner, with the possible exception of Brands.
The only way is up ; it had better be.

It's pretty much accepted FACT in Evertonia that we've purchased utter dross since the beginning of the Ron Koe era.

It's also accepted FACT that we have no striker and haven't had one since Lukaku

Yet we hire our 3rd manager in two years and no one gives him a chance, expecting him to turn water in wine.

Have our results been disappointing since that shambles of an ending to that game across the park? Sure I'll be the first to admit that. But we really did look pretty good before that, eh? And we actually thought we deserved something from that game.

Look, Silva may indeed not be who we need him to be. It's way too early for me to say that. We simply have to give him the rest of this season and the summer before we judge him. It's not like we're going down now is it?

Thats the crux of it for me, the results werent bad before The Derby, now they are, the results are bad and the performances are even worse.

So hes getting worse results with the same players, to me that screams CRAP MANAGER.

Certainly trending in the wrong direction, true. I want to see if he can right the ship. It's not as dire as the last couple of months under Bobby M [yet]

Marco certainly has few friends on here. Good job for him our opinions are for our consumption only. I doubt he will be here a year from now but who knows? He might turn things around. If he doesn't then rest assured he is gone, and we try some other wannabe and so on ad finitum.

I can imagine Silva, having restless nights after our poor run of form; taking a break from the media and any news sites on line, waking up motivated tomorrow to turn this team around and rescue our season.

But then he walks into the training ground tomorrow and sees Bolasie putting his boots on.

Is Marco the right man for the job, who knows way to early to say. I'm not a fan nor a detractor of his. The fact though is this We have now been through numerous managers and got nowhere and developed no identity. If we Continue to sack managers at this rate and give nobody a real chance then we can never develop any kind of identity.

We have to stop this trend of sacking managers, we have to find a manger who we believe in and back him through thick and thin until he turns it around and develops a team and a style of play. Hopefully brands can develop the team and right the world's of previous windows to boot.

Here is the big question for me if we sack Marco who comes in? And those who think Mourinho think again he wouldn't waste his time, we are a million miles from him!

So Pickford is to blame for the form since the derby?
Pickford's the one in control of the dressing room, managing that disappointment?
Pickford is at fault for the two goals against Southampton, not the massive amounts of space in between and in front of the two centre backs?

Pickford's error in the derby was the turning point, but his presence in goal ALL season has been a cause for concern.

Silva takes some blame for not stopping the rot, but you did read Vlasic's words about the fans and the effect they have on the team. It's hard for a new manager to solve that cultural problem overnight.
What has he done to convince you of this?

You're saying "I'm convinced" and at the same time you're also saying "if he fails to prove that". So has he proved it already or not? I'm assuming he must have done something to convince you but I can't for the life of me think of what that is.

I'm convinced he has talent as a coach. I'm also saying he might not get that working here if not backed. In any event, 18 months into his tenure is the time to judge him.
Pickford doesn’t help matters with his erratic decision making, but it feels like the team as a whole is performing so badly at the moment that he’s a part of the problem, rather than the driving force behind it.
He's in a key position and his mistakes are more costly. He's a poor GK imo.

Digne looks class; Richarlison is a player who can play in most PL clubs; Zouma is playing better than he was at other clubs; Gomes has shown he can be used with effect (he's just lost focus for the time being).

Mina and Bernard I think are ineffective signings that most managers would struggle to get a consistently high performance out of.

I know you're convinced of his talent dave. You already said that before. I was asking why specifically you are convinced of that mate?

That and when you look at the home fixtures coming up it definitely begins to look like we have had our easy runs where we should have picked up points pass us by with a measly return.

He's got some job on him to get them to turn up against some of those teams at home when we can't even do it against Newcastle, Watford or Leicester at the moment.

Don't even start on our away form.

I was very impressed at the way he took Everton to two very tough away fixtures at Anfield and Stamford Bridge and set out a plan to deal with superior opposition whilst offering a big threat.

We haven't seen that since Martinez's first season...the ONLY season we have witnessed that type of boldness since the club's 80s heyday.

I'm hanging on to that thought and hoping when he's been given a striker of some note and balances out this team with a right side we'll be a force to reckon with.
