Yes we definitely should have given him longer. Look at some of the blurts after him that were far worse and we gave them longer allowing them to do severe damage. We are currently doing the same again now with the serial loser we have in charge, he should have gone at the end of last season.

Out of all of them, Silva is the one we should have given more time to and i suspect we would have benefitted from doing so but we will never know now.

Haha no. He was a knockoff Pep that struggled massively with getting his team finishing in the final 3rd with better players. Some good stuff here and there but he was bad at Everton and he got sacked. We should be avoiding these types of managers in the first place. They are why we are here.

Hindsight is an amazing thing.

Anyway.

Did we go to early on Marco? Was this our downfall? His win percentage at Everton was decent. He was handsome.

Not saying he’s ripped up trees at Fulham but he’s done a decent job. I know many posters on here were eager to get rid because he fluffed an FA cup game away to Millwall.

Good thread. Would read again.

We spent £300+mill for midtable and he couldn't hack the pressure before folding.

It was frustrating because he played zonal marking and we kept conceding stupid goals, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. I didn't want to see him gone, but at the time we thought we should be playing in Europe every year

Was the man I wanted, the appointment before we got him.

The fella oozes attractive football, and we played some fantastic stuff under him, no questions asked.

The job was too big for him, by the end. Everton is a cauldron of expectation, everything is micro-scrutinised. I honestly believe the Pickford cock up on the derby broke him, and despite us having that good little spell towards the back end of the season, I don't think he ever recovered.

I'd love to do our time with him again, now he's had a few more years to mature, as he's easily the most popular manager we've had, which includes Ancelotti.

A really likeable character who you were desperate to succeed.

Some of his games were worse than Dyche’s to be honest. I think the good was good, but the bad was some of the most aimless footy you will see. I’m not genuinely convinced he has improved too much until we see them finish the season in the top half. Hell, we had a better record than them last season.

Honestly, I think it was probably a bit early, but i also dont think he'd be able to turn it around. We we're so bad at setpieces it was absurd, even without active setpiece coaching, youd think pro footballers could do better.

and carry on with the fat sam’s and dyche of the world
