When we have had a decent finish to a season we seem to be absolute pants when we come back to start the following season.
Koeman had us on a great run that saw us get Europe only for us to come back and look completely clueless.
Silva was similar, he got us into a position where we had a shot at Europe after a slow start, only to lose to an already relegated Fulham and we missed out. Came back after the summer and looked like a completely different team.
Carlo had us in flying for when he brought us back from our summer break, but after Christmas our form began to fall away.
Get the feeling the players seem to respond to what the manager is saying for about 12 to 18 months and then they seem to forget how to play football.

No. Look at his press conferences at the end. We broke him. He needed time away to get his head together.

We are a basket case that will eat anyone alive given the opportunity. Honestly, I think we could see if Guardiola, Klopp even Mourinho inside of 12 months.

We need to find footballs first Hannibal Lecter, a true psychopath who if it wasn't for Everton would be doing 30 years for animal related nastiness

Marcel Brands did want him to stay but Moshiri overruled him. He then recruited Carlo Ancelotti with full knowledge he wasn't going to be staying long term.

I think there was a clause inserted into his contract, where he could leave as soon as someone else made an approach to him.

The Ancelotti thing was just a short term quick fix/PR exercise from Moshiri to get the fans off his back imo. Brands wanted Marco Silva to stay so he should've stayed.

What's all this about dogs?

Silva was overwhelmed by Everton at the time I feel.

Shame, he's re-established himself well enough, but the pressure at Fulham is nothing compared to a moody Goodison on a losing streak.
It's the Mike Walker effect i call that where a manager can do a good at a smaller club with smaller expectations, but flounder at a bigger one especially one that is as much a circus as Everton.

In my view, the 1 we got rid of too early was Martinez, but i know im in the very small minority on that 1.

After him, we set the bad precedent of sacking managers too quickly.
In hindsight with the new found cash we had at the time, Bobby should've been given another season.

So unlucky not to take us into an FA Cup final against a beatable Crystal Palace team.
