He's won things in several countries, hes younger than one, and miles younger than the walking fat mess of a walrus, his football is actually entertaining to watch, have you watched Allardyce and Dyce teams play, jesus christ imagine three more years of that...

Mate if I wanted to be entertained I wouldn't watch Everton! I'm as shallow as you get with us. As long as we win I don't really care how we play most times.
Not that we'd win loads with Sam or Dyche obviously.

I'm heartened to read that Silva has won stuff in other countries. I might be wrong or have the wrong person, but was he manager of that half decent Braga team that was around a while back? I might have made that up.

How are they even Similar Martinez has never managed outside England.

This man has been a director of football at his first club estoril.

Managed in Portugal & Greece winning trophies in each country.

Managed in the champions league including a win away at arsenal for olympicaos.

THe only thing they have in common is that they are not born in engerlund. Oh and relegation.

Interested to hear any other reasons.

Type of play I reckon, nothing to do with their background but more how they setup and play the game

I'm not saying no manager won't have negatives mate. Look at what I wrote. All the candidates have more negatives than positives. Would be nice for one to stand out and be the other way round.

Fair enough mate, but honestly we won't be hiring any of the massively proven managers from around the world, so the next step is one whose had a blip or is in the hyped but not too hyped stage of their careers, or settle for a retread manager thats on that particular merry go around

Estoril it was where he made his mark most mate, did really well with a nothing team - most of their history in the second division, got them promoted and qualified them a couple of times for Europe ahead of sporting etc, then Sporting where he also did well

And yeah style comes after substance - but no style and no substance is what Allardyce and Dyce promise

I actually like the fact he took on an absolute Horror show in Hull just to try prove something - and he effectively did by getting them that close to staying up

Could I ask why you think this Billy?

For me he's on the same level as both of them two but has a slightly sexier name.

I think he plays a better style of football and is better tactically than those 2, whose MO is basically sticking 10 grocks behind the ball and hoofing. I think he did an excellent job at Hull in the circumstances and has improved Watford quickly.

And yes he's sexy, which is a big factor for me.

Oh i also like the fact he was the manager that Merson and Thompson kicked off about when Hull hired him in a very Brexit - why hire this joke not an Englendeeer rant

Was one of the first managers to get something out of Niasse, and seeing as Niasse is our PL top scorer at the moment that works in his favour

I would find it worrisome if he'd kick Watford to the curb so quickly after joining though

It would suggest that he could be prised away from clubs pretty easily, which wouldn't bode well for us going forward

Guess it depends mate on your view, it would show ambition which is something we need, otherwise you have a manager who sees thisas the best he can ever do, which ultimately would mean we probably have the wrong one ambition wise if that makes sense.

As for bailing on Watford mid first season - their owners are renowned for sacking managers on a whim and offering short term contracts as in there own words they don't see the need to have a manager for more than a year or two. Offer no long term future to a manager then expect no long term commitment really

And for once i wouldn't mind us hiring a manager and worrying about him being taken off us should he do well, and him doing well enough to actually be targeted, be an improvement over worrying the same over the last two and ending up sacking both...

It's just interesting to me that one of the big knocks against Allerdyce from some is that he's a mercenary, when Silva coming to us after a few months and then leaving us as soon as a better offer came along is the definition of mercenary behaviour

The mercenary tag doesn't worry me in the slightest about Allardyce mate, it's the fact he's corrupt, plays appalling football and leaves the clubs he inherits in a mess in an absolute shambles once he leaves which ultimately kill there chances of surviving after that point.
