A quality coach already working is rarely going to abandon a club mid season unless it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. Moreover, Watford are doing well which suggests Silva would be less likely to leave during the season to turn around another club - particularly when you consider what happened at Hull

Hahahhaa YES

@chicoazul all the gang are here now for the Marco chat

Where you from mate? I appreciate the username might be a clue but are you still local? Apologies if that comes across a bit stalker like but just wondered.

What does your family member that's a Watford fan make of it, mostly the same views as yours?

I live in London! I grew up in London. I was only born in Croxteth, but that’s as good a reason as any.

He isn’t too worried if Silva leaves; the Watford owner, for all the, say, ‘dispatches’, have never left more than a day or so before appointing the next one, so they won’t go without. It all just depends on whether or not the new manager is better. I think he’d prefer to keep Silva.

I was a bit reluctant to mention the Watford connection on the basis people would focus on that more than the points I was trying to make.

It doesn't, please explain.

What I mean is I tend to focus more on substance. I feel like, having seen pressers, he hasn’t actually given much away. Most of the ‘sources’ seem to be from people on Twitter who have just snowballed. When I did my degree I was encouraged to differentiate between reliable and unreliable sources, and I feel like most of the claims Silva wants to leave (or make a fuss) seem to be from people who just ‘have a gut feeling’.

Its been 2 years now

No public rejections of another failed offer, no whingeing from those Mockneys = he's on his way.

Should this come off, would you be happy with it Dave?

I'd be delighted, but I do have my doubts. I do find it strange if we haven't given Dyche some serious thought, though.

Thank you for your input Switzerland, we sincerely hope you don't ski off a cliff.

I think the negative reaction from the majority of the fan base regards Dyche might have put the board off

Silva is a more "exotic" appointment at the end of the day

Personally I think Dyche is ready to step up, but I can see why the board might want to appease those in the fan base who get intoxicated by "names"

To be fair I think it comes from people seeing with their own eyes that he has refused to distance himself from Everton on 2 or 3 occasions so far. He could have turned this into a non-story easily and it would have been in his best interest to do so to cause as little distraction to his current role as possible, but he hasn't done that.

If I was in a job where i had the ability to end all the speculation, plus the potential unrest that it could cause in my current role, then i'd make a simple statement and put it to bed.

I can just imagine you talking with marbles in the mouth to a betty saying, "Yes darling I was born in a place called Croxteth, it's right next door to the delightful village of Cantril Farm darling, wild animals all over the shop, absolutley spiffing place darling."
