@Youorns84 it appears that I'm in the minority of posters on here that haven't insulted you yet.

Can I ask you an honest question ?

Who would you like as your next manager once Silva goes ?.

There's a few available that have coached in the Prem at the mo :

Koeman.
Pullis.
Bilic.
Allardyce.

Thanks in advance x

It will be none of the above...highly likely to be a European manager that they have worked with before who will not be on anybody’s radar

...and you don't know how to treat a manager of standing and get shut. It's just too rich for your system to digest. You're better off with a steak and chips type of manager like Pulis or Alardyce and leave the sophisticated stuff to us.
Like Moyes, el fraudo and Koeman eh???? ;):cool:lol

Interesting to read both sides...here’s my thinking:

There’s no doubt that Everton are a bigger club compared to Watford based on any metric that you use but, from the outside looking in, the role at Everton needs to be involved in a huge rebuild which will take time and has a chance of failing. The money may be there but attracting the right talent may be difficult. The role at Watford needs a few tweaks for him to appear successful. To me success at Watford is top 10 position, probably higher at Everton

Also the Pozzos would never put anybody on gardening leave. Their business strategy is to recruit early and sell for top dollar. Leads me to think that:

A) Pozzos don’t want Silva to go and Marco is negotiating his own terms to stay at Watford. Would explain the silence

B) Pozzos don’t want Silva to go but know that his head has turned so hard balling the compensation package

That’s it for me...the only choices. Truly think it will be a) but if it is b then good luck to you. You will have taken on a coach who plays very exciting football and has totally rekindled my love for the game that has been disintegrating since Sky’s involvement!
Most definitely higher, not qualifying for Europe and getting to a cup final is a failure in my eyes and that's bare minimum. The team doesn't need this big miraculous rebuild that everyone is banging on about, we finished comfortably in 7th by a massive margin of points and had the 5th best defence in the league only last season. An actual manager, injuries coming back and a striker, LB and CB in January will have us looking like the team we are and pushing the top 6 again. It's bad atm cuz Koeman lost the players and bought 4 number 10s and didn't buy a forward and another CB instead. I've no doubt come January with a new manager we'll be looking down the table from a height. As for your A or B options, totally agree with you and I think we'll all find out before Saturday.

Am I the only one hearing little bits and pieces of chatter about a done deal embargoed for a day or so?

I think it's getting too loud to ignore now (and no, it's not in my head!).
Not heard anything tiger but in this case i'm guessing that's a good thing. After all the public rejections and crap about reporting us for tapping up you'd assume following Silva's post match presser Watford would have been quick to dismiss us publically. The silence (for once) might be a good thing

It's not in your head Dave. Whilst trying to avoid the wrath of @orly and his effing index, I'm hearing tomorrow, but don't quote me OrlyFrandel.
