Marco Silva

If Everton and Watford were to reach a deal for Marco Silva it will be expensive for us, but I expect that it isn't all paid out on the first day, but staggered including targets to be reached for the full amount to be paid over, similar to the transfer of players.

I would not be surprised that sacking RK meant that possibly Southampton will not get the full amount agreed.

If a deal is being negotiated with Watford I expect that putting a package together could be long and tedious and would explain the absolute silence from all three parties... which is very professional from all concerned.

If, and it’s a big if, Silva is coming to you then the delay will be down to the Pozzos only allowing him to leave once they have sourced another coach to immediately replace him and the amount of compensation not the terms of the compensation

Embargio? Now that's a managers name you can hang your hat on. David, Tony etc just gross.

No mate. Just word of mouth.

I'm probably falling for the wisdom of crowds thing, but I'm in the beiever column on this.

The flurry of chatter about it the other day before the weekends games etc followed by a very deafening silence from all three parties - Everton, Watford and Silvas camp, would suggest that all 3 are involved in discussions atm, which would suggest a resolution is pretty close.

We want him, Silva seems to want us, Watford seem to want to keep him

History tends to show the outcome in that regard

Mate, you backed the last manager of this club - a man who single handedly put us in the bottom three; wasted £200M on trash; sold, alienated or loaned out our best players, and put us back 10 years as an organisation.

YOU backed that man and his regime.

You have no hand to play here, honestly you dont.
I supported him up to the disastrous window in the summer and I have no problem with the fact that he had to go. All I am saying is that the problems with the club began before he came here as you yourself know. As long as you try to ignore martinez's part in the fracas, you can hardly comment.Anyway thats past now and I will back whoever is appointed even though he may not be my choice. There was a bit of irony and humour in my post as well but this obviously did not come across. See you on Thursday then?

Out of interest why do you believe Silva seems to want to come to you?

If it’s down to the silence then I’m fairly certain that could be contributed to Marco using this as a contract negotiation with his bosses. I’ve not seen him say anywhere that he wants this job

That's probably the strength of it. I dont doubt that there are a few outsiders to the club who are privy to the details (journos, some well connected fans) but the 'Silva is sorted' runaway train is probably down to the type of logical development you highlight.
