Silva straight bats Everton links

Watford v Manchester United (20:00 GMT, 28 November)

Watford boss Marco Silva has got his answers to questions linking him with the Everton job down to a fine art after constantly being asked about his future.

"I work everyday to improve. My focus is to do my best like this morning, tomorrow I will do the same. he said.

He adds: "I'm sure if I continue to keep doing my work then good things will come in the future but his aim is "to get good results for" Watford.

"I can't talk about this situation. I'm Watford manager. I don't even want to talk about the situation. What is most important for me is tomorrow's game [against Manchester United]."

Can someone please put the third video instalment Of the franchise in which he refuses to commit to Watford in here please.

Thanks, much appreciated

and there you have why Silva's head would be turned mate, because we've had pretty much that over the past 20 years - and it is our least successful period of the entire clubs history. And is deemed as a massive failure by any sensible evertonian.

Not meaning to sound arsey over this, but in this league there's 3 clubs who wouldn't swap their history with ours given the choice, and probably only 6 who wouldn't swap their very recent present with us as well.

I want silva over the likes of dyce etc, because i believe his ceiling on what he can achieve is far far higher
Silva ultimately would want everton for exactly the same reason mate, the ceiling on this club is higher than any other he could realistically get atm.

As for the waiting for Arsenal etc type thing, he could easily end up waiting for something that never happens, seen it before with managers - remember the talk with Laudrup a whilst back being the next great manager etc at Swansea...

I totally agree with you and @catcher. As I was writing the response it did smack of replicating your clubs achievements. Of course his head has been turned but, significantly at this stage, it doesn’t seem that he will force the issue if his bosses don’t want it....and they don’t seem to

Or we won't go above the rate that the owner deems 'worthy' mate, the Pozzo's would have let him go if an absurd (for a manager) amount came in, hell they'd maybe still do so as Montella just became available on a free from AC, offer 20m let them get a good experienced manager in - but we won't we will go with big 'f'ing sam, and i can have a nice break for the first time in 30+ years of watching my team.

What's the latest with this lads? Is it looking likely to happen or is it going to be a long process? Unsworth give a very honest interview Yesterday "Something has to change" - Makes a change from the usual "Decisions went against us" or "We'll work hard in training" etc. He looks like he's hurting just like all of you.

Not quite unequivocal for me, as I stated earlier why doesn't he just stop all speculation with a simple statement. But like the previous poster said, I also cannot see it happening.

Sure tbh I have no inside info so it’s all conjecture. Based on this entire forum debate the bits I can summarise are (all in my viewpoint)

Any argument about who is a bigger club is totally nonsensical. Don’t really see why Watford fans would raise it and why your fans would rise to the bait. Everton have a far bigger history, a larger wage bill, bigger fan base etc etc but that won’t matter one iota when it comes to a relegation battle

I’m fairly sure that Silva was very interested in the role. I’m also fairly sure that he is not what Everton need at the moment to guarantee you safety. Looking at the amount of goals you’re leaking that needs to be corrected firstly and not sure that’s Silva’s speciality. There is a definite question whether Watford is the “safer” option if he plans to move on at the Summer.

The Pozzos - disagree with you @catcher. They aren’t charlatans and are the best thing to ever have happened to our club. I’m guessing that they don’t want to make any changes mid season. Think they will have a battle to keep Silva and Richarlison in the summer though

Statement - I’m guessing that the Pozzos have made their views known through the recent press articles. Also guessing Silva does not want to burn any bridges so is staying very neutral

Good news is that Newcastle and West Ham were awful, and I mean really awful, so can’t see you seriously being threatened with relegation and business will be back to normal across the second half of the season

Your owners are two Bob compared to Farhad Moshiri. Absolutely two Bob. They have ran Grenada into the ground,

Firstly Grenada is a country, I'm presuming you mean the Granada. They ran Granada into the ground did they? I'm guessing you're forgetting the promotions from the 3rd division into La Liga - managing to stay there against the odds for the entire time the Pozzos owned them. The Pozzos sold Granada in the summer of 2016. Their new owners then bought in Tony Adams and got them relegated - nothing to do with the Pozzos.

and are doing the same with Udinese. They are yet to acquire a top half finish.

Not sure whether you mean a top half finish for Udinese or Watford, but they've reached the Europa League/UEFA cup with Udinese numerous times under the Pozzos.

The Pozzos are some of the best and most respected owners in world football, perhaps you ought to brush up on your knowledge: http://www.byfarthegreatestteam.com...club-ownership-episode-1-introduction-pozzos/

Yes I meant Granada, autocorrect on phone there.

They left then a basket case club. Udinese sit in the bottom half, and Watford have never finished above 13th.

Moshiri has been a major shareholder in a club which have achieved more in 1 season than Pozzos have achieved accross their whole career at several clubs.
