I am not debating you taking our manager. Looks like it’s happening. But you have done it against the rules it seems. Why else are your board members meeting ours? Why would they make assurances you wouldn’t appoint him this summer? Because we have evidence of you breaking the rules, seems pretty clear to me. You aren’t doing it just to be polite. Whether you are a big club or not, rules still apply.

And I think we all know the two players you believe you could just ‘take’ from us. At various stages across this season they have been linked with all the top clubs in the country who we would undoubtedly do business with before you. You always stood a chance of getting Silva because of his ego and you having no competitors for him. If you think Richarlison or Doucoure dream of playing for Everton when clubs far bigger than you are interested, you’re being delusional.

You've had a good run. You'll be flapping about with the other also-rans in the Championship in a year or two (if you're lucky). The most interesting thing about your club is Elton John..... let that sink in mate.

Enjoy the Championship mate (getting it in now, we see clubs like yours come and go every year).

Also at the time Silva was sacked Watford were 10th in the league and Bournemouth were 12th, despite Watford having endured a terrible run in December & January. Had he stayed no-one knows were Watford would have finished, Bournemouth only had 3 points more than Watford by the end of the season. Also if people are questioning Silva's defensive qualities, Bournemouth only conceded 3 fewer goals than Watford across the season (admittedly Watford improved defensively after Silva's departure)

hes a british manager who tries to play a bit so people think he breaks the mould, whilst I have a lot of time for him, he seems like a great bloke, I do not want him at our club, flatters to deceive I believe

Wept. *You're a nothing club and your owners have delusions of grandeur. Why did you sack the manager who got you promoted mate? Why did you sack a manager who led you to a decent mid-table finish mate?
Neither manager was sacked. Jokanovic priced himself out of a contract by asking for a 3 year deal and a 200% pay rise. He was out of contract at the time. Many WFC fans wanted to keep him but he wasn’t sacked. Flores insisted on a break clause in his contract after one season which he instigated using - the guy wanted to go back to Spain which was displayed by him taking the Espanyol job less than 2 weeks later. Mazzarri’s style of football was awful - he nearly got us relegated finishing 17th and refused to speak English or build any kind of bond with the fans. A reasonable sacking.

Yes we go through managers. But much like you have ideas of breaking into the Top 6 and will be ruthless with managers to get there, WFC want to do more than survive each season. So we will act accordingly.

Call us tinpot. Accuse us of sacking managers etc etc. We’ve heard it all before. But you should look at your own club’s behaviour too.

Are we getting patted on the head by Watford fans now? 'Kinell. Didn't realise we'd fallen that far.

I’m sure you’ve said that every season for the past 3 years. We’re still here mate. And taking points off you in each of those. Not bad for a tinpot championship team.

Money talks BS walks. Rules don't apply when you've got good lawyers. They'll be a payout, compensation and that will be it. You can hardly argue grievance when you've been the perpetrator of wrongdoing. Once that's settled your board will let it go.

As for players, our neighbours still buy from Southampton irrespective of all the pissy fits they've thrown about it. And the RS pay through the nose for it too. And we'll probably do the same. At the end of the day, it'll benefit you if you invest the cash wisely. See Swansea.

That's the game, like it or loathe it. If you want to beat it, get better.

Thing is, you or I could do largely the same thing. For the last five years, the same three clubs have finished in the top three in that league. It's not an achievement to do well in it really.

It's like a striker scoring 30 goals in Holland - sure, it indicates he's alright at that level, but it doesn't mean he's anything other than a total Afonso Alves in the Premier League.

For me, Silva is totally unproven, but I'm willing to take a chance on him to see what he can do. There's no real risk to it - I don't believe we are capable of getting relegated from this league next season regardless of who is in charge, so roll the dice with him.

The biggest problem with Silva for me isn't actually his potential ability for the job; it's the fact he's proven to jump ship at the drop of a hat, so there's no chance of consistency. But we had that same issue with Martinez and Koeman and until we start winning things we're going to have that problem with everyone we get.

I agree, its tough to effectively evaluate Silva based on the Portuguese league, like a lot of leagues in Europe the top 2/3 teams get 60% of the money generated by the league and the remaining 17/ 18 teams get 40% of the money, so its very difficult for one of the lower teams to break into the monopoly of the top teams. If he is appointed only time will tell. One thing I like about him is his teams don't set up to get a draw, they look to win. I think one of the disappointing things about the last 10 games of the season is that we rarely did that, we seemed happy to play for a point

Any club with ambition looking to break up the top 6 is good with me. Us, Leicester and yourselves seem to have the financial power to give it a go but we are all struggling to execute at the moment.

Jokanovic' demands sounds pretty reasonable to me. I bet he was on quite low pay compared to Premier League managers at the time.

I'll let you off with the Mazzarri, but I bet there was more too the Flores situation that him just wanting to go back to Spain.

God where to start with this...

First, we're not taking your manager. You sacked Marco Silva. You did so of your own volition.

We didn't break the rules. We effectively made a bid for an employees services in exchange for compensation and you rejected it. It happens every year to every club, for players and managers.

Our board members are meeting yours to mediate the ridiculous issue your club has, because it's professional to do so - although we would have every right to laugh at you and ignore, but we're being polite instead.

Richarlison or Doucoure are modern day footballers and therefore hold pretty much all the cards for their future. If the players want to leave for Everton, they'll in all likelihood join Everton - they aren't slaves. We've had the same situation with Barkley, Arteta, Fellaini, Lukaku etc. etc. etc. over the years - if a bigger club comes in, the players invariably goes.

And with no trace of arrogance at all here, Everton are a bigger club than Watford. Much bigger. That's a statement of fact.

Also, this type of rant isn't new on here - we had the same with Koeman. "Why would he leave Southampton for a club like Everton", "This is blatant tapping up!" etc. etc. and it all boils down to the same thing - irrational sour grapes from a small club who should be focusing on things they can control to improve their lot instead of cryarsing about what they can't.

I wonder what Watford's end game is here. Do they drop compo demands if Silva were to join another club? Let's face it, they know they dropped a massive clanger not taking £12mil for a manager they ended up sacking two months later. I fail to see anymore to it. If there was tangible evidence that Everton had made illegal approaches to Silva I'm sure the Premier league would have seen it before now. Let's not forget that they approached manager 'insert name here' whilst Silva was still in charge.

Appoint Silva and break off communication with them. If points deductions were actually a thing for tapping up, never mind allegedly, then Liverpool would be plying their trade in the Vanarama Conference by now. Nothing to see here.
