No, I mean when someone on a fixed term contract is let go early, they are entitled to their contract being paid up, but have a duty to mitigate their loss, ie to find new employment to reduce how much they are out of pocket, with the former employer making up the difference
Ah. As I said, I'm no legal person. Well I'm sure if Silva applied for a few suitable jobs of a similar stature and none came up for him then what can Watford do but cough up?

Just having a little read at a Watford forum.

They of course do not have a good word to say about us, they made a few concerning points tho, they say he will start off good, but he finds it hard to adapt if things go wrong, injuries and such, they also say he cant defend, 1 comment was that if we concede a corner versus the 7 dwarfs, we will still concede, they claim the football is wonderful at times, but he cant set up a team to defend.

‘Big’ team managed:
Ancelotti:
Juventus, Milan, PSG, Chelsea, Bayern, Real Madrid

Enrique:
Roma, Celta, Barcelona

Emery:
Valencia, Sevilla, PSG.

Silva:
Watford

I do not agree with your statement, sir, and do not understand how you came to your conclusion.

Silva has managed Sporting in Portugal and Olympiacos in Greece and won trophies at both.

That all sounds very very familiar.

Do you think next week is due to some kind of date where we can confirm him without any comeback off Watford? Not sure if that was posted yesterday along those lines?

Either way, he'll have watched every game of ours since December, will have inside info on most if the players, will know where to strengthen, have an idea of who to get rid of.

I mentioned a while ago that I still had an inkling for him. He's been very quiet since he got punted out of Watford

Fwiw and since Moyes left we've had Martinez, Koeman, Allardyce, I've just got a gut feeling if it Silva we will be in good hands and he'll be a good fit for us.

In that case, the delay is probably a medical note from his counsellor saying he is actually fit to return to work.

Most of it is banter on that site and in jokes, so take it with a pinch of salt. We have nothing against Everton and certainly nothing against your fans. The amount of Liverpool "fans" with Mockney accents down south who probably couldn't point out Liverpool on a map annoys us. Never see that for Everton down here. We all know you are a bigger team with history and we are punching above our weight.
But as you have said Sliva (sic) doesn't know how to set up a defence in the prem and cant adapt. Look out for him flashing his stupid oversized flashy watch at press conferences and at every photo opportunity as if he has some sort of endorsement contract.

I know, I just dont see them as in the same league with the other teams I mentioned. Maybe Sporting. His CV is still weak compared to the others I mentioned.

And why would these managers with a stellar CV join us mate?

Money you will say, we arent the only team in the world who pay wages, but we are 1 of the teams in the world who dont have CL Football, we dont even have a Europa to dangle.

I think Moschi wants a young rising star... using Tottenham and Pochettino as the model. He might question if Ancelotti is young and hungry enough for the Everton project, even if he could get him which is doubtful. No chance of getting Enrique but Emery is a decent shout. Especially if you believe the rumours we nearly pursuaded him two years ago and he's interested again

Then we sign the defender with the best stats for headed clearances and blocks this season.

Welcome back Shane..

Behind the scenes a 4 year deal in principal agreed in December
By Feb he phoned Mosh "you know what Farhad, I'm more than happy with a 3 year deal"
March comes and he calls Mosh "I've been thinking and I reckon a 2 year deal with an option of a 3rd will suit all parties better"
April comes around and he calls Mosh "erm I thinking of maybe signing a 1 year rolling contract if that's o.k with you boss"
End of season and Mosh calls Silva but no one picks up the phone
