What would be ambitious about those 2 in comparison to him though? Emery has only been a real success at Sevilla, and even that was only in the EL (with Monchi). Fonseca has a very very similar record to Silva; good with smaller Portuguese sides, OK with a big Portuguese side, very good with the best team in a relatively minor league. The only real difference is that one of them is coming from abroad and so seems sexier than someone who's already been here for a year.West Ham hold talks with Fonseca and Emery.
We swerve them, appoint Silva.
Everton that.

Almost everyone can be seen as expansive in comparison to the last two dullards we've been plagued with.He has the right amount of pragmatism for me. At Hull he placed more emphasis on defence than he did at Watford which shows he adjusts allowing for the tools at his disposal. This shows that the comparisons to Roberto Martinez are wayward, who tried getting people like Gary Caldwell playing football. At Watford he realised he had good offensive tools and definitely had them playing good footy.
He showed good composure at Hull too. He walked into an impossible situation yet never panicked, he made several loan signings in the January window like Markovic, Ranocchia, Ndiaye and Niasse to replace Livermore and Snodgrass who were sold without his permission and all of those players improved Hull immensely.
This definitely proves to me that he has the right amount of self belief to be a good manager here.

He's only ever won domestic trophies with PSG, which I think I'd back any of the others to do.Emery has won domestic and European trophies regularly. Dropped the ball at PSG in regards to the champions league but other than that...it's a higher calibre
Under Sam we had almost no shots and wongames, there quality in the team to finish the chances that are created, more attacking more goals more wins...thing is: we know what to expect in terms of conceding goals. If it happens here it wont be a shock. No supporter can say "hold on, where's the defence?" He just needs to get us creating a lot of chances and signing attackers to convert enough to make the boldness worthwhile. I'd back him to do that.
It's not an appointment that will take us to the next level, but it will dispel the terrible atmosphere of hopelessness and boredom.
If there are complications with still trying to get Silva, then Everton should just move on and steer well clear. Getting caught up in a dispute and the possibility of having to pay a scummy sack the Manager every year club like Watford a load of money for employing a Manager that they sacked would be absolute insanity on Everton's part. It would be Everton to a tee to make another bollox of it all and have a completely unnecessary prolonged saga. They haven't got time for all that tossing about now. Need to concentrate on getting an uncomplicated and available Manager and get him installed as soon as possible.
We had Sam Allardyce the king of defending and Koeman a class defender and defensive coach, but we still conceded 58 goals only 10 less then Watford... not remotely worried about coinciding as I think we will score more and be more attacking and got for bid gave a possession stat over 50%...thing is: we know what to expect in terms of conceding goals.
