If you remove his Olympiacos "stat paddding season" his win rate isn't that great. He was ok at Watford for a bit but their bottom fell out. I'm not convinced we're going to have a better season than we have this time but the style of football might be a bit more exciting, and that's the REAL success according to most on here.

..I would hope he’s got an eye for a player himself. More specifically, I hope he’s got an eye for the type of players that fit the strategy he wants to play, and he’s been doing his homework these last few months to draw up a shopping list.

We are being linked with players. Be interesting if these are Walsh targets or players on a list provided by incoming personnel.

...and this is one of the attractions of him - I'd like to think this has been nailed on for months and it's just a matter of quickly rolling a plan out of players targeted and who he'll retain, in conjunction with an incoming DoF, and we get moving on all this by next week and steal a march on others in this WC summer.

So I'm playing in a tin pot league on £10k a week and I get a chance to play in the premier league, in front of 40000 fans every week and they'll even pay me £60k pw to do so.

Oh no Marco Silva is their manager. He got Hull relegated and concedes loads of goals. Screw that.

You think? Really?

The manager is a factor when players sign on not the only one mind but I really do not want players who sign on just for the money or players who sign on because they feel Everton is a safe club to nail down an easy contract over 4 years.

So what type of players are we going to attract and what does this mean for our ambition - all smacks of mid table aspirations and players whom will be attracted to the club for the wrong reasons.

It,s a nothing appointment for me DaveK, - 4 more years of mid table obscurity give our last 25 years that would be consistency for us.
Still if Bill goes then the curse will be lifted and we might a sunny day out at Wembley.
It could well be thats what we have to put up with. The decision to allow Koeman in and to entrust him with £250M to spend will haunt us for a long time to come.

Stay top half playing decent football, get a run in the cups and get the stadium done. That is a reasonable plan of action in the immediate post-Apocalyptic/Koeman era.

Yeah that's the hope - that there's a plan in place.

But it's Everton, there probably isn't.
