Marco Silva

I would have been made up with him in November, especially given what we ended up with.

But now? When we actually have some choices?

He's nowhere near the top of the pile for me and I don't understand why he would be for anyone else given who is available.

I am Jack's overwhelming sense of ennui.

When he comes in he will have my support for the season and I'll give him some judgment again after that but at the moment I'm feeling let down by Everton once again this season.

Ideal manager for Everton - 5 managerial appointments in nearly 7 years. 1st LEFT. 2nd SACKED. for not wearing official suit in a cup match. 3rd QUIT. personal reasons. 4th RESIGNED. 5TH SACKED. Any suggestions for him leaving Everton in probably about 18 months?

Not really, you could argue that if he dosent stick at this one, then his reputation could be unsalvigible.
He will be ready to settle down and actually build something

See it as a student, going from rented flat, to rented flat, eventually, you want to lay some foundations down and buy somewere

But loyalty is a two way street mate, if he looses his first ten games he will get the bullet.

Hull were regated and he had a break clause, i think that is fair enough it probably suited both parties.

Watford he didn't leave, he was sacked. There is nothing he could do about that.

I know what your saying but realistically where will he go in the PL bigger then us? No where really.

What if a club outside the Prem goes for him though mate? Someone decent in Italy, France or Spain maybe, who can offer him European football?

The Hull one is less of an issue for me, although it would have spoken well of his character to stay and get them back up (Like Dyche did with Burnley) it looked mutual between both parties, so fair enough

But the Watford situation is very troubling indeed for me. To want to leave a club so soon after getting there, whilst the season is going on, means that you're just as liable to do it at another one. You expect managers and players to want to get the best moves and deals they can, but at a certain point I really think you have to say "Sorry, I've literally only just got here and I'm going to give this club the minimum of a year before looking to move on"

Signing Marco Silva is essentially us agreeing to constantly looking over our shoulder for the entirety of his time as manager. At least with players we know we only have to worry about them leaving once the window opens. Managers can go at any time, and the minute we have a good run we're going to have to worry that another club might be willing to tempt him with a big offer and that he very well might fancy it. Again, if does fancy it, then we're going to be facing a double sword situation

It's a calculated risk to go for him for that reason, and that's before we even discuss his tactical abilities as a manager. Hopefully I'm wrong and he'll at least give us a season before allowing his attention to be redirected, because the alternative doesn't bare thinking about

Why does that matter? You said "People who win cups >" I've shown you a manager who has won cups, You can't start moving the goalposts now.
Why does that matter? Because I'd rather someone coming off of two league winning seasons than one who is coming off a relegation and a sacking for getting his head turned.

But let's not forget the time he won by losing 4-2 to Chelsea.

Some of the stuff people come out with about him harks back to the "winning the passing" nonsense of the Martinez days.

I'm not surprised who is biggest fan on here is.

Divorced after Rooney goosed his missus

So judging by the comments on here! your all still angry.

If we appoint him, than GET BEHIND HIM, get rid of the "he's s*&t, he's s"&t" attitude and get right behind the team and the manager.
Let him actually have a go before writing him off, and if it takes time, than it takes time! Dont start calling for his head in september, just as likely dont go praisining him as Kendall mrk 2 if we are inbeaten in our first 5.

If its a lie, than we fight on that lie

If we had gotten him directly from Sporting Lisbon there wouldn't be a dry pair of kecks in the house!
And since then he's won a league with Olympiakos and then failed to do the business at Hull and gotten the sack from Watford for being unprofessional and whinging to get released after 4 months of his contract.

It is amazing what context does.
