I really hope so mate but Brands comments last week make me think he'll have Chelsea at home as the final game to save himself in which we'll probably get a result in.

Dont think they'll sack him after losing to Leicester and Liverpool away the board are too soft for that.
There is no possible environment for him to return to Goodison Park after losing tomorrow.

True to an extent but we have to remember he's 19, in a new league a new country and been playing ahead of snails like Sig. In a fast counter attacking team he would be dangerous. I agree he needs to show more but it's chicken and egg we need to play him to see what he has and to be able to adapt. I guess he will get more with the run of games coming up.

Regarding strikers his constant changing of them is part of the issue he should stick with a striker for a run of games, if he is the main one but Tosun comes off the bench and scores and gets two games even though we know he isn't up to standard pace wise. What frustrates me so much about Silva is how he chops and changes hoping something will work even when he found it against West ham he chopped and changed again. How on earth can you get consistency like that? Then there's his subs and in-game management the fella is hopeless. Take any other manager in the league and they would have us on my more points.
He's chopped and changed because he had to though. So we found the balance against West Ham, but then Mina was injured for the Brighton game and Bernard had to go off early. So that balance has gone immediately and we have to change it. He tried to keep Richarlison up front and put Iwobi where Bernard was but everyone went mad and said he was an idiot and it was clear Iwobi couldn't play wide. So he's put Richarlison back out wide and that means someone else has to come in up top. Then Gomes, who is key to everything good that we do and was by far the best player on the pitch in that West Ham game got injured in the next game and is out for the year. That's not him messing about with the team for the sake of it, it's just trying to deal with the hand he's got.

On Kean, that's exactly what i'm saying. I'm not criticising him because i'm fully aware he's 19 and in a new country, that's the whole point. It's not his fault, but I can understand why he's not being given loads of starts because he hasn't really looked ready for them in my opinion. Who knows whether he's being handled well or not, that will only become clear in the long run.

That being said, football's a results business. I think there are mitigating circumstances to an extent, but ultimately the buck stops with Silva and our form hasn't been anywhere near good enough. For that reason he will probably be gone by sunday barring a miracle.

Depends on the manner of the defeat.

If we get smashed by 4 or 5 I agree... however a close 2-0/2-1 defeat and fans wont expect anything less.

Apathy is at its most prevalent at present - you can already see the incoming rally calls from the players and manager Thursday/Friday asking the home crowd to get behind the team to make sure we beat chelsea and get out the bottom 3 etc.

Yes injuries are an issue, a big one. But the fella doesn't help himself, he stuck so long with that boring slow 4321 with Sig and Morgan even when everyone was fit. Last winter we had similar issues. He should be gone Thursday but nothing would surprise me.

Very decent press conference, could not be faulted for anything he said. That said............I would like to see positive praisewothy remarks aimed at him on Thursday cos that would mean the unthinkable had happened on Wednesday night.

We are about to witness something special. Only happens once every 2000 years. Silva will lock himself in a cave barred in by a giant boulder. On the 3rd day, the Everton Board will remove the rock.. out come Rafael to be our lord and savior

Don't want to turn this into the Kean thread but he has to earn his starts. When he's started I think he's looked poor, he hasn't made himself enough of a nuisance or looked like he's understood the role of a lone striker. That's not his fault, but it's not really Silva's either.

He's shown flashes of real talent that make me believe he can be a really good long term signing, but his impact in the short term hasn't been great. Even as a sub, both Tosun and DCL have come off the bench and scored, he hasn't. I said above, there's a case for playing him on the basis that he couldn't do any worse, but he's not made much of a case through his own performances.

Started 1 (one) Premier League game.

Ooh, he is approaching his last day in charge of the blues. Never mind Marco, it has been...well an experience.

to be fair he looked more than fine against wolves

he was awful vs sheff utd but so was the whole team
He was OK against Wolves, I would say he was the weakest of the 4 attackers that day but he was alright. Sheffield United I thought he was dreadful. Lincoln he was lively but looked very raw, the team as a whole looked better when we changed it. Watford he was really bad, but obviously that wasn't up front.

My point isn't that he's rubbish, not at all. I can see definite ability there. I just haven't seen anything that makes me froth at the mouth that we're not starting him, that's all.
