Simon Jordan (I know I know) again talking lots of sense about the crazy decision for us to hire Silva in the first place.
Think he was on last night. Can’t stand the station, but it was on, they mentioned Everton so listened for a couple of minutes. Presenter asked if there could be a ‘shock’ team relegated. He said yes Everton, then added ‘Forever’. - That’ll teach me.

More excuses in the Telegraph, yes we needed those two positions strengthening and that is on Brands/the board. However why isn't he giving Kean a run? And it doesn't account for Silva's awful selections, in game management and inconsistent results for eighteen months.

"Everton went into this season in dire need of a powerful target man and skilled central defender. That they secured neither is not Silva’s fault, and it is the acceptance of that joint-accountability by the board which partially explains the reluctance to make him the scapegoat.

Unfortunately for Silva, events may yet conspire against him even more if a similarly commendable performance as that at Leicester does not transpire at Anfield, particularly as so many supporters have lost patience."
At times on Sunday we looked every bit as good as Leicester, we certainly were not outclassed at anytime and the last second goal was heartbreaking but when you are at the top and full of confidence you get the breaks you need.

We certainly did not look like a team short of talent ...so why have we been so awful in so many games.
Certainly the injuries play a part, but we must remember that Gomes as well had a couple of truly awful games before his injury.
I think we need to forget the injuries and ask why can the same players look good and dire at different times.

but this is what some people can't understand, no one is saying he will start and score every game

however, he is the only one out of the strikers who hasn't had a good run of games to prove himself, yes we know hes young and hes not used to this league but without giving a fair run how do we know how he will handle it

he needs a good run of games to determine whether or not he CAN be our main striker or whether or not we need to invest in the striker department again

one thing is for definite though, starting that mess calvert lewin who does nothing and bringing kean on for 10 minutes at the end of games isn't going to help anyone
In other words, playing Kean is a gamble.

It’s the mindset of the team and that comes from the manager.

So what happens if the unthinkable happens tomorrow and we win? He carries on obviously, and is then hailed as the messiah for the homecoming against Chelsea.......and we lose? So is he toast even if we get something from the next two games? I’m confused.
