So he hasn't played much football and hasn't scored many goals, but hes young.
Does this qualify him to be a regular starter in the PL? Not saying he won't make it. it's just that I don't get the hype on this relatively small amount of evidence.

but this is what some people can't understand, no one is saying he will start and score every game

however, he is the only one out of the strikers who hasn't had a good run of games to prove himself, yes we know hes young and hes not used to this league but without giving a fair run how do we know how he will handle it

he needs a good run of games to determine whether or not he CAN be our main striker or whether or not we need to invest in the striker department again

one thing is for definite though, starting that mess calvert lewin who does nothing and bringing kean on for 10 minutes at the end of games isn't going to help anyone

Moshiri hanging on for dear life to Silva because he actually paid money to Watford after they sacked him for being crap. It’s a major bruise to his ego to begin to accept the absolute mugging he’s just received.

I really hope so mate but Brands comments last week make me think he'll have Chelsea at home as the final game to save himself in which we'll probably get a result in.

Dont think they'll sack him after losing to Leicester and Liverpool away the board are too soft for that.
What will that be ten losses out of fourteen!?Christ they need sacking for not sacking him!

I'm pretty baffled as to why he still has such confidence from the board members. The injuries and such do not allow any decent explanation for his subs, inflexibility, stubbornness, etc. Each at the cost of winning

Don't want to turn this into the Kean thread but he has to earn his starts. When he's started I think he's looked poor, he hasn't made himself enough of a nuisance or looked like he's understood the role of a lone striker. That's not his fault, but it's not really Silva's either.

He's shown flashes of real talent that make me believe he can be a really good long term signing, but his impact in the short term hasn't been great. Even as a sub, both Tosun and DCL have come off the bench and scored, he hasn't. I said above, there's a case for playing him on the basis that he couldn't do any worse, but he's not made much of a case through his own performances.
True to an extent but we have to remember he's 19, in a new league a new country and been playing ahead of snails like Sig. In a fast counter attacking team he would be dangerous. I agree he needs to show more but it's chicken and egg we need to play him to see what he has and to be able to adapt. I guess he will get more with the run of games coming up.

Regarding strikers his constant changing of them is part of the issue he should stick with a striker for a run of games, if he is the main one but Tosun comes off the bench and scores and gets two games even though we know he isn't up to standard pace wise. What frustrates me so much about Silva is how he chops and changes hoping something will work even when he found it against West ham he chopped and changed again. How on earth can you get consistency like that? Then there's his subs and in-game management the fella is hopeless. Take any other manager in the league and they would have us on my more points.

100000% this^ I really don't believe it's just down to him missing a few signings. His management is hopelessly naive.

Silva at this point is simply waiting to be sacked. It’s inevitable! There is no way he turns this around so what is the point of keeping him in the job? How can we be allowed to go into a derby with a manager everyone knows isn’t going to be here after? How does he prepare for that. I have no ill feeling towards the guy but I’m no apologist for him either. He’s in a situation largely of his own making and he’s simply not good enough. Mosh and the board are looking more and more foolish each and every game they fail to act.

the key word is ego. I genuinely think that’s the reason he’s still here
