His players are letting him down (how many times have we said that in the last decade) but he doesnt do himself any favors. He insists on playing out of form players and he chops and changes the players he shouldn't chop and change. DCL scored last week, it's our first goal all season from a striker, drops him this week. Doesnt make sense. I'll refrain from feeling sorry for him while hes earning his massive wage on the back of achieving absolutely nothing as a football manager. If he wants to keep his job he needs to grow a pair and get into these shrinking violets but I fear he is of exactly the same ilk after watching that tonight.
I agree. But I don’t think he is of the old hairdryer-style school of management.

I really don’t think there is anyway you can motivate the modern footballer, as they are guaranteed their massive wedge. In the old days bonuses made a difference, but when you are a multimillionaire how much difference does it make.

That is why it makes it even more important that a player’s character is concerned before signing them. We clearly do not seem to be putting enough stock on this quality when buying players, and that falls on Brands.

Fact is, we should never have gone for Silva after Watford and Hull. Moshiri’s head was turned after one good run of form. You have to question his approach as well. Since he took over we have been a complete shambles

I think the debate about him is slowly grinding to halt, whether you want him to be given more time or you don't, I don't think anyone seriously suspects that he will the Everton manager for next season. So what do you, persevere and hope he can turn it around into some kind of respectable season and hope we limp in 7th or 8th and cut your losses then or see this season as very much alive - keep him until we get the City game out the way and try and make a change then?

Some out of work managers (according to transfermarkt):
  • Jose Mourinho (Manchester United)
  • Max Allegri (Juventus)
  • Luciano Spalletti (Internazionale)
  • Rudi Garcia (Marseille)
  • Marcellino (Valencia)
  • Qique Setien (Real Betis)
I imagine the top two are unattainable and the rest are complete unknown quantities when it comes to the Premier League but have OK reputations in the leagues they've managed in, still it's not the most inspiring collective.

The managers who have recent Prem experience contain the likes of Javi Gracia, Claude Puel and one David Moyes, more uninspiring still....

What a distressing predicament though, another season slowly going into the drain and we don't have any answers on how to reverse it.

Poor selection of mangers.

Simple fact is those players are better than What he's getting out of them.

He's stubborn, dour and completely out of his depth.

In the Context of the opponent thats one of the worst performances I've seen.

He has to go.

Its not who we want to be as a club.

But he is awful. Koeman, Allardyce awful.

How good are these players though really?

A bunch of big club rejects, the stars of relegated and lower end top flight teams and some kids.

Still should be able to beat Sheffield United at home though of course...
