2019/20 Marco Silva

I’m certainly no knee jerker but I see this ending badly for him.

Same but we just seem to be getting worse, dreading the next game already, think I'd have Jagielka back over these two centre halves, Keane needs dropping asap, he terrifies me, no aggression for a centre half is a terrible trait. What doesn't help Silva is he's playing the same players week in and out that are just not performing, Schneiderlin, Sigurdsson, Keane, I can see no hope atm.

That Walcott for Coleman sub was diabolical today.

What I don’t understand is that he plays DCL week after week when he doesn’t score, the guy finally grabs a goal last week and he doesn’t bring him on when we are chasing a game at home and swinging crosses in right left and centre. Baffling.

Silva has loads of exp and dunno if he's qualified. He's utterly clueless experience be damned.

Arteta isn’t the answer. This is supposed to be one of the top jobs in English football, we can’t just give it to a bloke who has managed one game at City (which he lost at home). Even Solskjaer and Lampard had experience at other clubs behind them first and it’s doubtful they’re ready.

Kendall has proven himself at Blackburn by improving them massively, same with Joe Royle at Oldham, same with Moyes at Preston. Why don’t we go for a manager with a good track record rather than relegated at Wigan, relegated at Hull fired from Watford, fired from West Ham Sunderland and Newcastle.

Arteta could be worth a chance
We have to wait before we sack Silva. He is on a hattrick. Only has to loose against Norwich without scoring, and he has got it. Loosing against 3 new teams without scoring. He could also make a double. Loosing against Wednesday without scoring, he will make the Sheffield double. Hail our glorious manager!!!!!

Why would he?

He has never managed a club like us. Every club he has been at have been top end teams (except Leiria but that was at the start of his career). He works at a different level to us.

I mean it COULD work but I personally think it would be a disaster with in house fighting all over the place.

I don't think he has got the fight in him these days either.
Even considering him is farcical. He would never stoop to managing at our level. He is heavily (like, super heavily) tipped to go to Madrid, the biggest club in the world.

He is already ridiculously wealthy, so he wants to go somewhere worthy of his talents (in his mind). The lowest he would go is probably a top Italian team, and he knows he cannot match the resources of Man City so he will not be in a mind to come here.

People say his stock is low, but then they would also have rated the likes of Tuchel higher for a time due to them being “progressive young coaches.” Arsenal shows at the moment what happens when you try to play progressive football without the players capable of doing it to a high enough level.

In fact you realize how good Wenger was now that you see another, very good, coach struggling to get to a similar level.

We owe him nothing.

Misplaced loyalty.

Don't allow Koeman/Allardyce to be the benchmark.

He was a gamble. He has no credentials to suggest he's capable of being a top 7 manager.

If we sacked him tomorrow - his CV highlight is Everton manager.

How many other clubs would touch him?

All boils down to whether Brands is capable of finding a better manager and whether Brands is able to work with someone who won't just pay lipservice.

Why would he ?

What would he do that would be so utterly terrible ?
The same thing that he did at Chelsea 2nd time around at Madrid and at United.

When things go wrong blame everyone else and throw the players under the bus that he's parked to stop teams scoring.

Then he'd sulk and then the players refuse to play for him.

Mourinho was great now he's finished.

Absolute garbage, will go the same way as Martinez, we can all see the issue with zonal marking etc, stinks of the mgr being stubborn, how many goals did we concede last year from the same scenario, nothing learned and that’s criminal.

Completely rip the dressing room apart and have us watching grim defensive football for all of the 5 months he’s at the club before he walks when he realises he can’t do a thing with the squad he has at his disposal.

Just to confirm, you’re basing this on his time at Chelsea when he won the league and United when they won the Europa and finished second.

Who would you rather have ?

Royle relegated Oldham too wheras Martinez won a trophy. Its not just about what the manager has done elsewhere but how they are suited to our club. Royle for example worked because it was Joe Royle, right place, right team, he was exactly what we needed at that point.
