Mourinho and Wenger are both washed up and wouldn't take it anyway. Allegri no shot. Enrique I'm not even convinced is that great of a manager. Those Barcelona teams were absurdly talented. Blanc is a bit meh.

None of those scream long term success in my opinion.

Since 2015

Mourinho: 1 prem title, 2 league cups, 1 Europa league, 1 fa cup final, 1 second place in the league.

Wenger: 2 fa cups, Europa league finalist.

Washed Up? I’d take washed up thanks if it means any of the above.

As long as we see that he's trying to change and improve, then he gets to the end of the season.

He ends up being a stubborn bell from now untill xmas, he'll be gone.

Overall, he's not shown much in terms of having got more in his locker for people to argue that he can be a great manager. He hasn't got a poor squad he's squeezing the most out of and he's not pushing a good squad to be better.

That's the sign of a good manager.

We would play better with him on the field imo.

No athleticism or agility in Siguurdson Schneiderlein and Delph.

We wouldn't mate. He refuses to receive the ball under pressure from the cbs (which Gueye and Gomes would do) and is a non-creative, non-scoring midfielder. The problem is he "runs around" (oddly enough, I'm not sure the distance covered per match stats actually back this up as Gylfi gets through a huge amount) but doesn't actually do anything

He will heal us ;)

As DOF Brands should sit down with Silva and say ok we are in a mess ,what are you going to do to get us out of this and give him a deadline to achieve that. If he doesn’t achieve that then sack him. That’s how it works in most businesses.
Some people on here are saying that injuries and lack of back up players are hindering him. In my opinion that is not a good enough excuse for the tactics he is currently using.

The most calm, well thought out, rational post on this thread.

I think we should have to factor in the club's direction of travel and whether the issue can be resolved using the transfer window. Far too many individual errors by the same players and lack of finishing. The only saving grace for Silva is we're dominating possession. So all the players are not bad.

Is Silva the man to lead us to the promise man? Well time will tell in the forthcoming period if he has enough tactical nouse to push us through this difficult patch.

Yep, and what worries me is that Silva is already sliding into that territory with his "chuck on all the attackers and hope for the best" routine. The Sheff Utd manager saw what was happening, went "ok", got his team ready to counter-attack and they scored the second on the break.

I said in the match thread the day before kick off that United had the best defence of the promoted teams and the draw at Stamford Bridge told me that they're no mugs away from home.

They parked the bus. We can't break sides down. After the own goal the best we could've got was a draw out if that game. That's a more troubling indictment that anything imo

A better idea is for the owner to call both Brands and Silva and ask them WTF has happened to the £200M spent since the pair of them took over less than 18 months ago. Ask them if they're in agreement on signings and sales and if not, why not.

Also worry for me is every time a team attack’s we concede. 40 mins yesterday we had the ball they didn’t have a single attack, then they came forward forced a corner due to Mina and Keane going for the same ball. They then score first attack of the game. The second half was the same we had the ball for long periods they attacked once we concede again. Yet we need how many chances to get a single goal.

This fella has had 200 million since July 2018. The club has made back about 87 million in outgoing transfers, still he’s spent roughly around 110-115 million out the clubs budget and this squad doesn’t look much better. The club top to bottom is rotten in the last 4 summer windows the outlay is close to 440 million. Astonishing amount of money spent without adding Walcott and Tosun in ... we used to laugh at the RS blowing money on Carroll, Downing, Aqualini, we used to moan ‘if we had the money’. Well for 3-4 seasons now the money has been there and this club looks no better ... Silva has to go but also the boardroom needs a severe clear out.

Marco Silva teams are absolutely garbage in both boxes. The stuff his teams do well is the stuff that is irrelevant. We can't create good chances, we sense danger well and teams find it very easy to create clear chances against us.

We are like Southampton. A pointless club with some talented players but none who have any effectiveness on the field whatsoever. I am completely disillusioned with this club. It's not everton.

Thats a goid point...its a test of character too.
All managers to a certain degree go through some tough patches and its how they manage that..how they adapt..whether its a change in formation a change in tactics and players....?
Morshiri already has a reputation for firing if not performing but at this stage its a little too early, however that can quickly change...the next few games are crucial and the fans response at games ( especially if Moshiri is present) will have a big impact).
But unless there is a serious threat of relegation replacing him without a long term outstanding prospect wont change matters much.

We’re are neither Manchester United or Chelsea though so it wouldn’t mean any of the above, and Wenger didn’t get to a Europa League final.

That happens to the best teams though. Happened to City against Norwich the other week.

The point is to capitalise on the dominance then manage the game.
