The sooner you realise relegation would be a disaster and that as a club we are going somewhere you might make more sense.

Tbf mate we are going absolutely nowhere.

I'll put this to you - 3 points seperate Everton and Aston Villa - 2 similar sized clubs.

In the time that Villa have been out of the league:

1. What have Everton achieved as a club

2. Which clubs fanbase has had the most to celebrate - Everton fans drawing a derby 0-0 or Villa winning the play offs?

As I said financially yes it would be bad for the club but as a supporter I care more about whats on the field than the balance sheet. Our fans have more chance of cheering us having a positive net spend one season than winning a trophy or getting to wembley - each to their own I suppose.

Mate we would have to basically sell every player in the team and a few of the squad, we would need a whole new team it really is unthinkable.

You've got to be on the wind up, surely!? Literally the only good thing about Everton is that we have remained a top flight team when so many have crashed and burned around us. We very nearly went out of this league twice in the 90s and given our lack of spending power under Moyes it very well could have happened more recently if our recruitment wasn't so good.

You'd have to be absolutely mental to wish relegation just for the sake of having 'a day out' just to get back into the very league you wanted us out from in the first place!

Nah we would lose the top players like Digne, Rich and Pickford - we would deffo have 1 season at most to get back up before losing a good bulk of the side.

As I said im certainly not advocating or saying it would be a good thing as it wouldnt - however when you accept that this current stagnation isnt going to change under the current board the quicker you realise relegation wouldnt be a disaster - it wouldnt kill us like it would have in the 90's and fans would still be going home and away - you would just hope it would result in the decks been cleared and a new board, manager and structure in place with an actual plan going forward.

Everton is just another "side outside the top 6" now and the current board have no plans to change that anytime soon hence why we continue to appoint managers from bottom half/relegated clubs.

I honestly think if we do go down at some point it wouldnt be a disaster (stadium aside if not sorted by then).

1. It will see the end of chancers like Kenwrong and Moshiri who will be chased out of town.

2. It will get us away from the fixation with Liverpool and having them doing so well in the league will hurt us less

3. It might actually give the fans something to look forward to - one of my mates is a Newcastle fan and he said their stints in the championship were the best he's had supporting them in the last decade or so - winning most games, playing against proper old school clubs etc.

Obviously winning the fizzy pop league or play offs wouldn't be celebrated that much by the majority of our fans who think as a club we are above those achievements (and rightly so) however it would atleast give the younger fans like my little lad the chance to see us lift something which most clubs outside of Everton in the football league have done in the last 20 years or so (win something or promotion to a higher division).

Im just fed up of this constant state of purgatory of the board having just enough ambition to finish 8-11th and 1 season in 5 or so that we come 7th we likely struggle the season after.

Its become too predictable and im
Frankly fed up of this club and league in general.

Just looked at the next 5 league fixtures. Genuinely struggling to see a win in there. Brighton away looks the easiest but you can almost write the script. More of the ball. Half hour or so. Go 1 down.
And we dont do comebacks.
Trying to look at positives but difficult to pull any out.
Really think we're in a bit of bother.

What do you want, a board that is prepared to spend money? A board that is willing to sack managers for finishing 8-11th?

???????

Have you not been paying attention the last few seasons
