I just dont think it would be a disaster mate - it wouldn't kill us financially and it wouldn't stop fans going the game.

Yes it would be embarrassing and those lovable Reds and Soccer AM fans on twitter would be having a right good chuckle - but so what if we play in the championship rather than win one lose one before finishing 8-11th in the prem, not winning a derby game and knocked out the cups early. As I said if you was a young Villa fan you'll have seen more success them winning the play offs at wembley than a young Evertonian seeing nothing but humpings in the derby.

I honestly wouldnt miss the current Everton. Im not old enough to remember the glory days but atleast that decade under Moyes as poor as we were at times we had some bloody fight in us and punched above our weight. Then Martinez made us dream that 1st season and since then the past 6 years have been groundhog day bar Koemans first season which was pretty average outside of Lukaku being on absolute fire.

I would say that:

Relegation would be a disaster for the top 6.

It would be embarassing for Everton, Leicester, West Ham etc.

It would be predictable for the rest

Taking the Blue tinted glasses off thats the reality not including the current stadium situation.

Surely you are just wumming here because you are angry with us being so crap at the moment. Everton are one of most successful clubs in the Country and have only been relegated twice since 1888 the last time being 1951 and the only team that have had a longer unbroken run than Everton in the top flight is Arsenal.

It would be a massive disaster being relegated and doesn't even bear thinking about. There is no scenario that would make it not disastrous.

I honestly think if we do go down at some point it wouldnt be a disaster (stadium aside if not sorted by then).

1. It will see the end of chancers like Kenwrong and Moshiri who will be chased out of town.

2. It will get us away from the fixation with Liverpool and having them doing so well in the league will hurt us less

3. It might actually give the fans something to look forward to - one of my mates is a Newcastle fan and he said their stints in the championship were the best he's had supporting them in the last decade or so - winning most games, playing against proper old school clubs etc.

Obviously winning the fizzy pop league or play offs wouldn't be celebrated that much by the majority of our fans who think as a club we are above those achievements (and rightly so) however it would atleast give the younger fans like my little lad the chance to see us lift something which most clubs outside of Everton in the football league have done in the last 20 years or so (win something or promotion to a higher division).

Im just fed up of this constant state of purgatory of the board having just enough ambition to finish 8-11th and 1 season in 5 or so that we come 7th we likely struggle the season after.

Its become too predictable and im
Frankly fed up of this club and league in general.
I despair when I see this type of stuff, I often wonder the reasoning in even thinking this

I agree my thought process on this is probably influenced by how crap we are at present- but as a club we are going nowhere mate.

Im not even 30 yet and I cant see us ever winning a trophy never mind a league title, we aint getting into the top 4 anytime soon and the one season the top 6 are weak we have to Everton it up.

The ownership come out with outlandish statements like expected losses, we sell our best players still (Lukaku, Stones, Gana) and appoint mid table after mid table manager with no ambition or imagination. Our derby record is a shambles and we cock up in every attempt to push on out of midtable regardless of money spent.

Even the players on the pitch are spineless and couldn't give a damn (add a manager slumped in his chair with the personality of a wet lettuce).

Factoring in the above would I want us relegated? No

Would I be gutted - Yes

Would I be destroyed thinking its a disaster - No - I would still go home and away and hope it forces a change at the club from top to bottom.

As I said to Roydo before - what have we achieved since Villa were out of the PL? and how many years have gone by between the two sides being in the same division yet they are just 3 points behind in the table.

Take the whole top flight nostalgic record out of things and it would mean little in the long run in our chances of doing anything as like I said the club is set up solely to tread water at present.

Going off topic but thats my thoughts on it anyway.

Relegation would be the end of this club for the next 20 years

The board care only for the stadium mate - rightly or wrongly and they only act when we are in absolute freefall and face a potential relegation battle.

The fact we gave Alladyce a gig is testament to that our ambition is avoiding relegation until BMD is sorted.

We never go out of our way to actually make a statement appointment or transfer signing as the board are happy where we are.

My advice is buckle in as the next 3 seasons will be the same with the added flavour of a likely RS title win or two along the way.

Are you saying the board won't release any money for players or are not willing to get rid of managers who don't deliver?

It doesn't matter if AFCBournemouth finish above us or not...you have to look at the bigger picture.
So what’s the bigger picture?
Overhauling a mess that was 4-5 years in the making isn’t getting done in one season. There’s a project here...that’s the bigger picture. Sacking managers every 6 months just starts the same cycle.

I am in my 50s and so i am fortunate enough to have experienced a time when we were boss and did win things. The top flight was a lot different back then. There was no such thing as a top 6, everyone had a chance. I really feel sorry for younger supporters who haven't experienced anything. Must be even more frustrating. This rut we are in has been going on for about 25 years or more or about the same period of time that Kenwright has had more power and involvement. Coincidence? Nah dont believe in them.

Getting relegated isn't the answer though mate no matter how bad things are. This lengthy rut wont last forever and greatness will come back again in the future. I just hope that i am still around to experience it again. lol

It definitely wont come back with this numpty of a Manager or the people that are hiring these no marks in charge.

I would love to see Everton being proactive for a change instead of reactive. Maybe one day eh.

I've not really considered basic communication as a potential problem before. It reminds me of before the international break and that report about Silva telling Pickford to quiet down. Silva doesn't come across as someone talkative either.
