As I said for anyone saying Mourinho/Wenger are past it and could turn out to be disaster appointments - after the past few seasons whats the harm in trying?

If it goes well we have a trophy winning manager.

If it doesnt - well its no different to the past 6 years post Moyes.
Past 25 years past Royle unfortunately.

No doubt we'll plod along until there is nothing left to play for and then churn out a few good results and give us all hope for next season only to crush us again next September.... Let me tell you something about hope my friends. Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane. SILVA OUT realistically i'd take a loss V Wednesday if it means Silva gets punted and Rafael or Mouriniho in ASAP.

I wasn't that mad until Saturday, Alarm bells are ringing now, His tactics and formation are all wrong and his plan b is just throw any attacking player we have on the bench which he has done before but this one was way worse.
Couldn't score at home against a team who's manager said after the game it was the worst his side have played. I wanted to give him a fair chance but I think 7th is all he would be able to take us with how he manages and sets himself up. It's not all his fault the players have to take a bit of the blame but I find his negative tactics and style of just lobbing crosses in might have rubbed off on them.
We took a gamble and it failed, Time to move onto the next one until it clicks unless some respectable manager wants a crack at this.

The way his only tactic is to give it to the fullbacks to swing crosses in is actually as gross to watch as Allardyces lump it to the big man upfront

He doesn't have the team fired up. OK, I'm not a fan of Sigs, Morgan and other recruits he's not 'responsible' for, but he must get effort and application. He doesn't.

As a long time fan of Moyes, I've had had a huge respect for the achievements of Brighton, Burnley, Villa (whom I previously loathed), Newcastle, Sheff Utd, Leicester (now), Bournemouth. Mostly teams whom we might have rather patronisingly said punched above their weight, but now out-pointing or on par with Everton.

With the exception of Rafael, they're doing it with gritty teams, hard-working, British manager.

We've lost that, it's priceless. It can't be bought.

We need youth in that team, character in our leaders and I'm not clear why Brands appears to be out of the picture for criticism, too. We've needed a decent CF for 4 seasons. He's culpable for that over the 3-4 windows he's had do do something about it.

Big pressure now for cup game. Win that and gets a free spin on Saturday to put out a new formation that will try to stop City scoring a truck load. Ideal opp to change to a 433 with the ball and 451 without with 3 across the midfield and no no.10.

Not convinced he will do either so just have to wait n probably see further fume

The cup game has come at a bad point in time for him.

An away game. And we are easy to get at with problems scoring.

Won't get much credit if we win but will pile pressure on if we lose.

I hope he can find something to get us out of this, but he needs to be pragmatic and flexible.

We are turning into Scotland not Watford; below could have been written just as easily for us;

https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/49788522

"Scotland are sold on their own promise, which only rarely manifests itself. They win a few games and everybody gets giddy, including us in the media, who are so starved of positivity when reporting on this team that every big victory at Murrayfield is thought of as a turning point.

It only becomes a turning point when they actually turn,
not when they approach the turn before going into reverse by delivering one win in five games in the most recent Six Nations. From their past six tournament matches, they have a single victory, against Italy at home"

He's always been out of his depth - I don't think he will recover at all from this slump.
He will, he will go full circle.

1) bad run of form, on the verge of being sacked
2) gets some decent results against top 6 teams playing attacking football, gets compared to previous managers records against top 6.
3)goes on a decent run, fans are comfortable and start talking about future signings.

Repeat step 1

He won’t be the next sacked though. I like that we’re giving our managers time now, that’s sensible as we need stability, but I think it’s becoming increasingly clear he’s out of his depth here.

I'm not so sure to be honest, moshiri does seem to like him but he's show how ruthless he can be

bear in mind as well Marcel wasn't the one who actually appointed silva so Marcel might have his own ideas

I don't mind given the manager time if he shows signs of turning it around, he did last year but we can't be doing this every season
