..because it's a PL job that pays well and if you think the DoF has an eye for a player that coincides with yours then you accept it.

There is no blend though...just as there's no blend in the team. The two are connected, IMO.

He wanted to come to Everton when he already had a PL job.

Who makes the decisions at City if there can be only one? Given they worked their balls off to get Txiki Begiristain a year before they went and got Pep. Is Pep just a cone-layer-outer or is Begiristain sat twiddling his thumbs all day picking up a massive wedge?

I just don't understand why any organization would pay huge money to duplicate work and have no accountability as well as demotivating and misusing the talents of highly motivated people on huge salaries. And if Everton are, then I'm going to coin it in as a consultant sorting it right out.

Assuming a change is made over the coming weeks, be that before or after the next game, what is the new manager's priority?

For me, it is getting to the root cause of the attitude problem among the playing staff. The rot starts there. It has pervaded successive managers and a number of the more recent signings have succumbed to the everton hang-dog expression this season too.

Impossible to identify the root cause, is it a couple of the more longer term players ingrained low expectations, is it some of the longer serving coaching staff on the same basis, is it Bill up above not setting goals and pushing demands by way of performance expectations down the chain.. none of us can tell from the outside. However, a ruthless dog of a manager who has won at the top level before, been there done that, should be able to cut through the fog and identify the causes. If he isn't backed to address them he'll walk. In which case we are truly goosed. This is our last get out of jail card to play I believe.

I pity anyone who doesn't realise that this marks the end of Everton FC as we know it.

All the talk of investment, new world class stadium on the docks and one day challenging for the title - we are sat in the relegation spots yet giving more time to a Novice manager who did nothing last season nor in his entire time in English football or any half decent league.

Wake up Blues - our board have confirmed that they see us no different to a Watford or Crystal Palace.

Walsh bought Siggy instead of Maddison.

Praet has played about 8 games so can't really judge. But saying he's better than Gomes and Delph is a little reaching.

And before we go all envious of Leicester, let's just see how they get on. They're reliant on Vardy and are clinical. Once that dries up, we'll see what happens

I think this league is the most competitive in living memory. Newly promoted teams are giving the bigger ones a battle. Losing Gueye shows how much of an influence he was for Everton.

Everton just need to sign a few more players in key areas. Currently, there's no midfield balance. Hopefully, once Gomes and Gbamin are in the side then we should start winning again.
