He wanted to come to Everton when he already had a PL job.

Who makes the decisions at City if there can be only one? Given they worked their balls off to get Txiki Begiristain a year before they went and got Pep. Is Pep just a cone-layer-outer or is Begiristain sat twiddling his thumbs all day picking up a massive wedge?

I just don't understand why any organization would pay huge money to duplicate work and have no accountability as well as demotivating and misusing the talents of highly motivated people on huge salaries. And if Everton are, then I'm going to coin it in as a consultant sorting it right out.

One person has football authority at any club. Ours is Brands. Look where we are.
Walsh bought Siggy instead of Maddison.

Mina is better than Söyüncü.

Praet has played about 8 games so can't really judge. But saying he's better than Gomes and Delph is a little reaching.

And before we go all envious of Leicester, let's just see how they get on. They're reliant on Vardy and are clinical. Once that dries up, we'll see what happens

*looks at where Leicester are; looks at this post*

By the sounds of journalists its not a forgone conclusion he's getting sacked unless we lose to West Ham (and potentially Brighton and Watford) therefore as much as we would hope that the club are sounding out/talking to other managers over these 2 weeks I highly highly doubt it as what happens if Silva wins the next 3 on the spin - does Brands tell Ten Hag or Mourinho etc "sorry lads you're not needed now we are keeping Marco" it just isnt happening.

If he was getting sacked it would have been either yesterday or will be the monday following the West Ham game if we lose.

I don’t think it’ll matter if we get a result, I get the feeling Brands is more than a little bit annoyed that Silva is wasting the squad, Kean being the prime example. Moshiri may be owner but Brands is not only DoF but he’s on the board too and will have a big say in his future, if he can find a replacement (and the Dutch media seem to be hinting as such) he’ll convince Moshiri that it’s time to end it

If he loses to West Ham he's gone mate even he himself has called it a must win - my problem is if you then sack him we have to spend weeks finding a new manager and getting them bedded in when we have a vital League Cup game against watford right around the corner which we'll no doubt lose with Unsworth or some interim in charge rather than a new bloke who would have had a few weeks with the squad.

The board dont care that the fans havent seen us win ought for 24 years - so long as they can sleep at night knowing they gave an underperforming manager "one last chance to prove himself".

Meanwhile come May that lot will be parading in our city again this time with a League Title and God knows what else.

Atleast one of the clubs in this city gives something back to the fans - shame it aint ours.

Yearh if we lose to West Ham it’s different then, and you know and I know the Everton board won’t have any plan in place at all. They not bothered now as long as we stay affloat for the new ground

  • The league position
  • The silence from the club
  • The 'no fear' blurb from Marco
  • The lack of comments from the captain
I know i had a gentleman's bet here he wouldn't be sacked, and i still don't think he will but this is beyond comedy. As i've said previously we had a public bitch fight over this manager, had to settle out of caught, paid over the odds for players HE wanted, we sack him now not only is embarrassing for the club. its egg on Mosh face.

Ego ruins all.

Because I've lost all hope in the man, He's had numerous times to change it but he's decided to stick to the same players and formation that currently lost us 3 on the bounce, what does he do? Pick it again away to Burnley. A manager who refuses to change it or change it when it's bad will never take us to the top 6 or push us to the next level.
Let's not get started on his subs either, He's predictable and I've lost any faith I had left in him.

You should not hope tho mate we as fans just want some success, if that’s with him or without him

Moshiri and Brands are disgraces.

Why waste 2 weeks of finding a new manager/getting them working with the players to give a bloke ONE game to see if he's the right man for the remaining 31 when its clear he isnt?

Absolutely amateur our club is really am sick to death of them.

Well it will really be the previous four + one games. Such is football these days I think anything past three successive defeats and you are in trouble, regardless of any credit in the bank, and Silva doesn't have much.

There seems no question that change is imminent and he is in the last chance saloon. People will never agree on timing, for some it is a game too late, for others its a month early. How long is a piece of string?

Maybe for "middle-aged" folk like me, there is also a fatigue to all this. I'm sick of the continuous cycle of failure and knowing the sack is sadly no guarantee of improvement, not that Silva hasn't been able to do anything to convince people that he should be retained.

We have no game until a week on Saturday. It makes sense to me that they use that time to evaluate who is available and make tentative enquiries.

Sacking Silva in itself is no solution, it is only the means to a solution if it leads to the right man being appointed as manager subsequently. They can sack managers no problem, it's the part afterwards that they can't get a grip of.

Level on points with Palace with the same record.
You need to do better with that mate. They are a real force and have handed stiff tests out to the elite clubs already. Since the back end of last season to this season so far, they are easily a top 5 club. They may not stay there, but they are managed very well and the players they bought are talented and have character.
