I do believe that we have a talented squad of players, when you look at them as individuals I see no reason why they should not be challenging for top six at least, but as a team we are brittle ,lacking in confidence and sometimes depending on which team is picked we look slow and unimaginative.

The counterpoint is that we do play well you can see the potential for a really good team.

Yes, we have been unlucky at times, but maybe you have to make your own luck.
I ask myself if Guardiola or Klopp had our players would we be in a better position and the answer is that I believe we would be chasing top four given the way this season is going.
I know we cannot get those managers but it tells me we don't have the right one either.

We need energy and motivation to get us going in the right direction
Silva offers little or nothing, we need a change of manager but also type of manager

Yet Chelsea seem to have a lot of instability in the managerial front and are very successful.

Maybe it’s not the concept that is the problem, it’s the type of appointments we are making.

in his only defence I can think of, he does seem to be a tad unlucky with things going against him, but then again, do we want an unlucky manager in charge?
if only we were Chelsea

I'm gonna go punch myself in the face for even typing that, brb

We do yes. The right manager in terms of character can transmit onto the team on the pitch.

It will take someone with an inner steel and self-confidence, as well as experience, ability, and a way of expressing themselves.

You might say it will now take a brave, if somewhat foolhardy man to take us on, but we offer great wages and an untapped potential, and I still think, enough decent players from which to build.

But absolutely we need someone with big enough shoulders for this job - Silva looks like a rabbit in the headlights.

If he's not sacked before December I think we'll be bottom of the division by the turn of the year, no doubts about it. And I wouldn't be surprised if we went back in for Allardyce. This board is completely inept and I would not put it past them. This is a much, much more precarious position than when Koeman went. Our December fixtures could not be worse. I'd be surprised if we picked up more than 5 points all month.

I have been saying all along that quality is there but sadly it looks like Silva cant inspire them. Players are soft anf fickle under him.

There are a number of difficulties with being an Everton manager currently. You don't get a lot of time, you essentially get a seasons grace and then the judgement is on. If you don't progress you are also going to be judged too, so if you stand still you are in big trouble. So you need to show progress and show it quite quickly.

On the plus side you do have significant funds to work with (not an unlimited pot but certainly funds available) and a squad that currently is in reasonably decent working order (compared to the mess that we had 18 months ago). Still some trimming needing but it's a younger, better squad for sure.

I do think a more experienced manager like Benitez would quite relish the opportunity. I can see some similarities with Leicester last season, who were bumming around a bit, and were pretty tedious the two times we played them, but Rodgers saw something in a young squad that with a couple of tweaks suddenly had it turned around. Thats the hope anyway!
