Quite peculiar to read posts complaining that posters expected 7th...

When a dodgy VAR decision aside we would currently be joint 7th.

3pts off 7th now.

We put two half decent runs together last year (pre Anfield derby and post Goodison derby) and finished 8th. The league is dross.

That just makes it even more infuriating when you look at the table atm.

The West Ham game was definitely progress, the Brighton game was a disaster from a results point of view but the performance did contain some promise.

However, the team picked against West Ham was missing Coleman(suspension) , Delph and Schneiderlin(injury) .
We had to play Sidibe and more or less the same for Davies.
The only difficult decision was dropping Sigurdsson and playing Iwobi there.... which he reversed against Brighton when Bernard got injured.
While I agree, what other choice did he have there?

Obviously not a huge fan of Kean for now (shockingly), so the other was to move Richarlison to the wing. Would it be better? IDK, couldn't have been worse I guess.

That said, we still played well, even with Siggy in there.

Me too. Been a poor start, no doubt, then a very good performance hammering West Ham, then played well at Brighton, turned the game round, then Bang, nuts VAR that sucked the life out of us.

Sure the haters will pounce and say that every other side would have the stones to recover, ergo, we are weak and spineless, but I see progress. Just.

Quite a few teams have folded like we did too so that wouldn't be true - Spurs against Leicester springs to mind.

Well I hope I will say that. Nothing in the attitude of the players in the last 2 games has said they have downed tools. The last 2 performances have been encouraging. Even if the result at Brighton wasnt. But I dont lay that at his door.

Ignoring BFS, (he was all ways a stop gap), under Martinez and Koeman it was obvious they had lost the plot. I just dont see that with Silva.

I don’t know what to do with him when he manages to get a worse position than last season (next May). If he can’t get results then so be it he has to go. Sooner rather than later because by the new year we may need a stop gap to get us out of relegation zone.

Yeah, thanks, I know.

Why I said its been a poor start. And a VAR nutjob is the difference between our last 2 performances dont have us 7th, or 8th.
It's awfully simplistic to blame VAR - which the EPL has no idea how to use - for the loss to Brighton.

How about not putting yourselves in the position where a single screw-up torpedoes you?

The scary thing is that the players are fighting for him yet we are 16th.

Can you imagine how crap we would be if they downed tools.

He's garbage - near 18 months in and zero signs of progression not even baby steps.

Look at Leicesters progress in under a full 12 months under Rodgers - no excuses of having lost Maguire like we peddle with Zouma just progression.

Wolves look better even with a smaller squad and EL to contend with.

Our fans/board have a weird hard on for a manager that has shown nothing in his time in English football - atleast Martinez won the FA Cup & Koeman got 6th with Southampton playing good football this fella is a putz.

Why are you not a fan of Kean?

And no, we didn't play even remotely well with Siggy in there. We were a man down, were absolutely gashed in the midfield (you know, where he's supposed to play), and he contributed exactly 0% to the game. He had ONE forward pass to a forward. Gimme a break.

His entire managerial career before we tapped him up.

Also the ability to somehow get a tune out of Michael Keane and Sigurdsson last season.

I can name more rubbish players at the club than good ones...let that marinate.

This is a brave and noble cause Zat, sadly Silva will just let you down, over and over again.

As I said you can keep offering mitigation, but the cold hard facts say 6 defeats in 10 and quite frankly thats not even close to being acceptable.

But im almost with you, he just needs to, yano, win some games.

We are mostly a fickle fanbase, sure there are fans that will never switchback, but the majority will get back on side if we can string a few wins together, but results are all that matter and so far they are beyond horrific, even factoring in the small pieces of mitigation here and there.

I am mate, Silva isn't (for now it seems at least).

He was alright at best, at times, really. I have no other requirements from him, everything else is a surprise lol

I agree with your hidden "bring back Roberto" message

If he would have been given the players he wanted OR not had such injuries OR a shocking VAR decision we would be well above 7th.

Which is actually pretty good for this squad.
Yeah, we’re not doing to good but we’ve had a very typical Everton run of luck.
