I think you will find that Klopp has signed an entire team of new players. Some of those players were for world record fees in their position.

Can you think of a team with 7/8 players doing as you say...with Michael Keane / Morgan Schneiderlin / Gylfi Sigurdsson / Seamus Coleman performing as they have been this season, surely tugging those 7 or 8 into oblivion.

Klopp has been very lucky with injuries...this season alone weve had Mina + Gomes/Gbamin injured and now Bernard.

The main thing for me though is that the RS actually had some decent players before Klopp took over...Silva...what was he left with?

Were rebuilding the entire squad.

sorry Zat but klopp set out he wanted to play from day 1. He walked into that club, laid the law down on how they setup and what position they will play and set that way and mentality.

he then bought players to fit that system, regardless of the price, he had a way of playing.

I still don’t know Silvas plan?? We thought it was 433 counter attacking football yet very rarely plays it, his Gylfi sub at the weekend shows that he really doesn’t know what to do other than resort to the obvious

if fans could see something, a way of playing and a set style he’d probably get more leeway, but each week there’s always a decision or a sub that just leaves you scratching your head.

His decision at the weekend allowed for so much space down our right side it was borderline mental. He allowed their player, who had pace to burn, a massive gaping hole to run into. And he did, and they scored

Honestly mate, you really don’t think another manager could avoid losing 6 out of 10 against the sides we have played?

You can quote luck, VAR, injuries but those withstanding the side we’ve had on the pitch should be enough to have bettered that return.

I hope you are right, I just don’t see it

I dont see how see how we win games with our centre mids injured forcing us to go wide and pop in crosses (which posters complained about???)

The two mistakes Silva has made is not binning sigurdsson (joint top scorer last season though) who ive wanted sold for ages and most posters on here loved him...and not pushing Brands for a better CB + CM player.

He cant affect players missing open goals like walcott or VAR...or injuries?

Klopps style was different when he took over until now.

Sidibe was pushing forward last game and got caught out.

The next manager absolutely needs to start with a massive clear out... and the board needs to back him and accept a big financial loss on the players bought by previous failed managers. I'm talking getting rid of Tosun, Niasse, Bolasie, Schneiderlin, Walcott, Sigurdsson (not because he's a bad player, but he's on huge wages and doesn't impact games enough to start any more), Baines, Stekelenberg and maybe a couple more. He should be brought in ASAP and given two transfer windows to get a team ready and a style of play - ready by the start of next season. With the players we do have at our disposal, and with a few signings in January, if he's brought in now there is no reason why we can't challenge the likes of Chelsea, Leicester (hurts to say it) and Spurs. But, as ever, our board will dither and by the time Silva is inevitably sacked we'll be far too far off even a top 7 challenge. Heck, if it's allowed to go on much longer the manager will have a real struggle picking up the players as they'll almost certainly be adrift in the bottom three upon his arrival. I don't trust our board one second to get this right.

The clear out began when silva and brands joined.

Its about 50% complete.

You now want a different manager who may want to also sell players who dont fit his strategy thus putting the timeframe of the rebuild back.

Then the new manager will be sacked halfway through their rebuild i guess...

Keep Silva. Be patient.

Klopp, you’re right, has rebuilt the team (minus one or two) but every player he has bought has either fit into the mentality/personality he expects to succeed, or he has moulded them into it. Jordan Henderson’s interview after the Tottenham win was explaining how much klopp has changed their mindset whenever they go a goal down and their overall mentality. Our guy buys players (him/brands, who knows) it seems with poor mentalities and he has no idea how to instill a steel mentality into them. That point is clear based on his record. He’s now bought enough of this team to call it his own. It doesn’t seem he has any intention of getting rid of Pickford, he’s still bought a GK. A couple of injuries is nothing mate. Klopps has his fair share too. Everyone does. Please don’t tell me we are garbage because some guy from Mainz we know nothing about is injured....Bernard only got injured Saturday!

I think mentality is something which can be installed in players by the manager . Take Hendo for example , he didnot look like a winner in Sunderland or in Red Rags before Klopp arrived . The big change in Reds dressing room now is that even average players like Hendo or Origi or Milner have started believing and it is these players who play a vital role when Salah and Mane aint clcking . I want to see that hunger and belief in our players aswell . And i look up to the gaffer to try to change the mentality of players , make them believe ..

No mate, klopp always played a high press, intensive game, it’s been the same from day one. What’s been different is the personnel which has now pushed them to a very good team.

and sidibe pushing on was one problem, but the shape had gone. He took Walcott off we had nobody on the right to the fullback. That’s a very poor way of accepting an awful tactical change

I think with klopp he also demands that they play at a fast tempo, where us week to week are so slow, that is down to the players, but it is Silva who picks them

Are you suggesting we wait for him to relegate us before we act? Aren't all signs suggesting we're headed for a relegation fight? Might be good enough for you but not for most fans.

So last season if we only had Keane + Mina + Holgate how would we have done?

How would we have done with Gomes injured for a run of games and Gana out too...because Gbamin isnt just "some guy from mainz" hes Ganas replacement.

Thats the situation this season.

Who else could he have put on as a sub who would have galvanised us to victory?

Well for starters, when Bernard went off I would have either put Kean or DCL on and kept the initial setup with Iwobi through the midfield.

if DCL did come on Bernard, then the later sub would have been Kean for Walcott, his pace and power would have give Brighton second thoughts about committing forward due to the possibility of being hit in the counter.

then finally I would have either Gomes or Davies out and Delph in to sit as the deeper of the 3 midfielders, with specific instructions to sure up that defensive line.

But his ineptitude lead to one of the most bizarre tactical substitutions since Martinez and Niasse against West Ham. It completely threw our shape.

Siggurdsson, who not only his lazy but has no heart, is asked to play on the left wing. Davies Gomes and Delph are sort of playing in a 3 alongside him, his attacking right fullback, who is still new to the league, is left to fend for himself against a player who likes to attack space. It was an awful tactical substitution.

And what made it worse, when they broke he just stood on the touch line and watched the inevitable happen. There was no screaming at his players to fall back into the hole left by Sidibe and ensure it was covered. It was all Sunday league tactics, it was abysmal

Seen one of those daft alternative league tables there. This one was for if all games ended at half time and we'd be 8th if that was the case... Basically we're mucking it up majority of the time after the break. Is that subs, fitness or something else?

Gomes was in and out last season. He’s been worse this season bar the west ham game. I think you are blaming the poor recruitment in the summer with your points here Zat. My point is these players should be performing much better than they are. If you think they are all playing to the best of their ability then you really need to be talking about how bad our signings have been. Either way, what I’m watching every week is dreadful and I don’t want to accept it. It’s all
about opinions but for you to accept a relegation fight in Silva’s second season is baffling.

It’s not just about winning the games though Zat, we can’t even get out with a draw. We should be able to set up to not lose tight games.
