2019/20 Marco Silva

I'd still like to think we are at least a top half side, if standards have fallen lower then its grim indeed.

True to say it isn't all on Silva but we can't sack the rest of them and I think we badly need new impetus.

The players, Brands, Moshiri, and the board all have questions to answer. All have been found wanting.

We cannot keep having Groundhog Day at this club - we are only one further botched appointment away from disaster, and a potential downward spiral out of which we may not be able to recover.

In short, the club is an utter mess at present.

Brie, I think we have already that one botched managerial choice.

This guy will either take us down himself or leave his successor with too much to do to save us when the axe does fall.

The only compensation for me is that two of the relegation spots will probably be filled by the two teams currently sitting in the bottom two so that makes survival a heck of a lot less difficult.

A board with any ambition would never have contemplated going after his services in such an obsessive manner in the first place.

I think it is precisely because of the highly publicised and rancorous pursuit of Silva that he is still in the job.

Firing him confirms that Moshiri was a right mug in letting Watford embarrass us and then pay compensation for hiring a man they themselves had fired.

I agree mate.

My only hope is Southampton see's him gone but you wouldnt know with this board.

Genuinely worried about our future we are without leadership from top to bottom.

Kenwright needs to step aside and a proper Chairman needs to come in and Moshiri has to either get his act together or get Usmanov on board to help / bring in proper advisors as we are heading towards being just another bottom half club fighting relegation year after year.

I think you are correct, but they can't keep putting off the inevitable. I'd be amazed if Moshiri comes out in public with anything on this again, and he can use Brands to do the job for which he was brought in for as cover.

For an individual as successful as he is, Moshiri has made some dreadful decisions - never again should he be involved in hiring managers here.

correct

Injuries have ruined the centre mid pairing of Gbamin and Gomes...along with Bernard and more.

Imagine if instead of losing the centre we had lost Keane / Mina.

He's been let down with this squad.

He's also been screwed over by VAR 5pts in the last 2 games...we should be joint 6th now.

Very bad luck.

yes we get the fact he’s been unlucky with injuries, but it’s the performances in the field that is the problem.

Was he unlucky when we went on that ridiculously bad spell last season as well?

Besides that, you’ve seen his interviews, how he comes across, can you imagine anybody being inspired by this dreary bore?

After 11 games.

2019-20 - Marco Silva

P11 | W3 | D2 | L6
For 11 | Against 17
Points 11
Position 17th

2017-18 - Ronald Koeman

P9 | W2 | D2 | L5
For 7 | Against 18
Points 8
Position 18th

So Silva has 2 more points from 2 more games than Koeman had before he was sacked.

In those 9 games Koeman was in charge of the 'top 6' we played

City
Chelsea
Spurs
United
Arsenal

This season in our first 9 games we've faced just City, and beaten easily by the two newly promoted teams.

Start compared to last season for reference.

2018-19 - Marco Silva

P11 | W5 | D3 | L3
For 19 | Against 15
Points 18
Position 9th

All I care about is 1 number and it's at the start of the table.

How can he be remotely defended by anyone?

Oh wait sorry, this must be another transition season.

The performances are the big concern for me. The results are no better. But if we were playing well and losing i'd have sympathy.

We didn't make Spurs even slightly uncomfortable until they went down to 10 men and we scored from our only real chance. We were dire against Brighton and folded like a cheap suit after the contentious penalty.

Yeah decision have gone against last few matches, last week at Brighton and last night. Thats not excuse for performances but we have been unlucky. Spurs did nothing last night until iwobi made a mistake Pickford could of been to the shop and back. We had standard chances but we was the better team in a poor match. I do think he has to beat Southampton on Saturday otherwise he will be gone in the international break. I know people say well if wins next week what if losses the next one. To be honest I just want points on the bloody board.

That is what we all want and damned quickly by starting to win games Hey Marco have you got the message yet?

It’s eerily similar the last Martinez season. He’s sticking with a GK that should’ve been dropped a long time ago, he plays the same boring tactics of trying to pass the ball through 2 CBs that aren’t good enough to do it. His post match interviews are becoming more and more ridiculous after each game and the players aren’t taking any ownership for making us better. It’s like we’ve gone back in time to Brown Shoes.

He showed last season he could turn things around.

Pretty obvious the squad is a mishmash and really weak in areas e.g the spine lol

Was having a chat with someone about Klopp and Rodgers...we were wonfering why they are considered to be inspiring...

Both would be considered to be buffoons in most other multi billion industries.

Couldnt quite come to a reasonable conclusion.

As I said yesterday there is no fire at the club anymore.

That's why Silva doesn't win games when conceding, that's why noone cares about the form.

Nobody cares

24 Premier League games we've gone behind in... 0 we've come back to win.

Slowly approaching a whole seasons fixtures.

Wright and Shearer saying we should have had 2 penalties.

Not sure how the manager is getting so much stick when its quite clear that weve been screwed over in the last games against spurs and brighton.
