Its that sort of narrow minded attitude that limits our chances of achieving our ambitions. Football moves on but sometimes things stay the same as they always have been, and that need not be a bad thing. We must not be blind to opportunity when it arises. If at some time in the(near) future we are looking for a new manager I would want the best available, regardless of his previous connections. A misguided siege mentality is not the way forward. If the rare scenario came to pass, and FSW became manager of Everton, believe me that would pee off the RS more than it would upset clear thinking Evertonians. Its all ifs and buts, but with two or three of the RS players in our team, and the right manager, its us who would be top of the table or thereabouts. Isn't that the holy grail for Evertonians?
It's narrow minded to go on and on about ex-red managers as if they are the only options. It is a bad thing. You sound like you should be in politics. That's not a compliment. It's flannel. It's not misguided to have a sense of unity and dignity in your own club. And if that is currently under extreme presure, the last thing that unity needs is people whimpering about how great red managers are and wishing we could have them at our club.

No one has suggested they are the only options. But they are at least the standard we should aim for. And no one is whimpering. Personally I've a more than 70 years history of supporting Everton. You should try to be a bit more laid back and see that old cliché 'the broader picture'. Have you any suggestions(names!) for our next manager? Back up your invective with a few positive suggestions . And don't imply that I don't understand what it means to support Everton, it does nothing for your credibility and weakens your argument. This isn't a war,its about some games of football. You sound panic stricken. Take it easy buddy.

Gonna be embarrassing in a couple of weeks when fat sam takes over again on 1 and half year contract

I've thought this myself. And let's be honest ,it will be way beyond embarrassing. Not unlikely though, given how the league table is likely to read by Christmas and the decision-making track record of the current Everton board.

To be fair Steve, Pep wouldn't be able to win the league with any club outside Glasgow.

Exactly my point. The majority of managers go through their careers without winning a title, and Moyes is one of the majority. Never has done, and never will. A smoke and mirrors career. Mind you,him and Mark Hughes have both got pretty good property portfolios.....that's their pension, right there.

Nothing to salvage. We were never finishing in the top 6 to begin with. 7th is an, if-you're-lucky, European spot. And we all know what happens when we go and play crap teams in Europe - they embarrass us. So for me, it's either finish top 6, or just don't get relegated. We're also-rans and have been for over 2 decades. It's not changing any time soon.

We’ve had one bad European campaign in the last 12 years, under a manager who didn’t give a toss

If we are in talks with Malky Mackay, then I for one would not be overjoyed.
What about Vitor Pereira? I am wondering what Blue Bill has against that fella. I know a lot of folks on here ('team Vitor') rate him very highly

He might well be what you’re calling him but no one with any class is going to want this job project or not it just won’t happen
You sell the club short.

You think a good manager wouldn't see the possible spending opportunities and not find that attractive?

The big drawback at this club is the DoF who needs to be cast aside and his job title binned forever. DoF's at Everton dont work.
