Honestly, I said a few months ago that Brands would never hire Moyes, but now im totally convinced hes next up.

If Silva has been sacked we are in real trouble, even more trouble than we are now.

In that case we would need :

A manager that knows the league
A manager that can grind out results
A manager that can make a team hard to beat
A manager currently out of work

Moyes is ya man sadly.

We got Sam in cos we needed somebody like him, if Silva has gone, we need a Moyes.

Gives us a chance to get to the summer when our options open up vastly.

Give me other names? Ive thought long and hard and Moyes is the obvious choice.
I understand that people don't want him, I don't really either tbh, but can see his value in our current predicament. If we do get Moyes we need to give him a few seasons to get us comfortably top 7 again and to a point where we can push on with a more exciting manager. If we sack him end of season we'll just be in this same position again in no time with the difference being that we'll only have the likes of Mark Hughes and Tony Pulis to chose from to help get us out of the mess.

What are you talking about?

We gave him 11 seasons already and he's been appalling at every job hes had since then!

Who else do we get then? Cuz the likes of Mourinho or Simeone ain't happening. I'd love a world class manager but it's not happening, look at the state of us. If we lose today we go into the bottom 3, sack Silva by Monday, then you'd guess we're looking for a manager who knows the league, can get us out of a tight spot and can bring stability, in short a fire fighter. Who's available? He was just fine at his last job btw.

Blanc?
Wenger?

Never go back. It never works

A little bit accidentally, you make a good point. The perception is that we are just not quite capable of attracting a 'top' manager and so what we need to do is find someone who is potentially a top manager(like Spurs with Poch). I think this was the thinking behind Mosh in particular wanting Silva...he saw some potential in him. If we are going to continue along these lines, and its difficult to see an alternative, I really can't see anyone suitable in this country, and no one really stands out in Europe. Its a difficult one for the board, that's why I think they will stick with Silva for a while yet, unless the situation becomes dire. Whisper it, but Big Sam at least got the team playing with discipline and I think he fancied a chance to become more expansive in a second season....so maybe horror of horrors for some(Hi Andy!) Big Sam might make a triumphant, one finger to the lot of you, return, with instructions to play a pressing game. I met Sam Allardyce a few years ago at a tribute 'do' for SAF, Sam is a great friend of SAF, and he was a pleasant bloke with a great sense of humour, contrary to the popular opinion of him. He also gives a lot of time and hard cash to charity, and that would appeal to Bill K. So be careful what you wish for.

In his Bolton days he was one of the most innovative managers around.

But then he failed to evolve and became the negative, corrupt firefighter we know and hate.

Shut up Steve.

No way Mark Hughes, he 's failed.everywhere. If we are going for the old boy manager type, it has to be Moyes. At least. He knows the club and will care about club a bit. I would prefer a.too manager though, but I doubt we.Will get one.
