Nope. While we are at the nonsense shouts what's Alan Curbishley at these days?Tony Pulis for me if we're getting a Welshman in.
We need a defensive coach to sort this zonal crap
Welcome Tony
Thing is, when Moyes left he was considered one of the best managers in the game. His stock has fallen a bit, but I think that he will still do a good job when given support. West Ham blundered by getting rid of him, as they have spent a fortune and look worse.Who else do we get then? Cuz the likes of Mourinho or Simeone ain't happening. I'd love a world class manager but it's not happening, look at the state of us. If we lose today we go into the bottom 3, sack Silva by Monday, then you'd guess we're looking for a manager who knows the league, can get us out of a tight spot and can bring stability, in short a fire fighter. Who's available? He was just fine at his last job btw.
A little bit accidentally, you make a good point. The perception is that we are just not quite capable of attracting a 'top' manager and so what we need to do is find someone who is potentially a top manager(like Spurs with Poch). I think this was the thinking behind Mosh in particular wanting Silva...he saw some potential in him. If we are going to continue along these lines, and its difficult to see an alternative, I really can't see anyone suitable in this country, and no one really stands out in Europe. Its a difficult one for the board, that's why I think they will stick with Silva for a while yet, unless the situation becomes dire. Whisper it, but Big Sam at least got the team playing with discipline and I think he fancied a chance to become more expansive in a second season....so maybe horror of horrors for some(Hi Andy!) Big Sam might make a triumphant, one finger to the lot of you, return, with instructions to play a pressing game. I met Sam Allardyce a few years ago at a tribute 'do' for SAF, Sam is a great friend of SAF, and he was a pleasant bloke with a great sense of humour, contrary to the popular opinion of him. He also gives a lot of time and hard cash to charity, and that would appeal to Bill K. So be careful what you wish for.
At least Martin O'Neill has won a few cups as a managerPlease let there by nothing in this. Would rather Martin O'Neill's breed of anti-football to that caveman hughes. Apalling idea.
No way Sam comes back here mate! Fans would go berserk. I was saying in an earlier post that due to the fact that we're going with managers who could be hit or miss maybe it would make sense to stick with Moyes for a season or 2 after, assuming that's who we bring in if Silva loses today. If he gets us up the table and looking solid then give him abit more time and let him restore some stability. Once in a secure position as a club then try again with the finding the next Poch approach. I think if we get him then release him end of season we'll be just as unstable and if our next manager punt doesn't work out we'll only have the likes of Hughes or Pulis to choose from. Flip side is just stick with Silva til the summer and pray he pulls us out of the mess but I think if we lose today Moyes will be in by Monday.A little bit accidentally, you make a good point. Imagine being so bad at management that your replacement is Mark Hughes
